Assignment One

STORY

It hadn't been long since his arrival here. Nevertheless, he was surprised to receive an invitation. Cedric looked at the invitation. There would be a drinking evening in Őrimagyarósd. He sighed and sat down on the chair in the room. Would he accept the invitation?

The day of days had come. Cedric had decided to accept the invitation. He sighed as he pushed open the door of the inn. "Let's go then." The room was bathed in warm light. Everything was clad in wood and there were a few plant decorations. Most of the people here were probably also here for "The White December". At some tables, people were playing cards, at others they were laughing and at others they were just chatting away. Cedric looked around. Then he sat down on one of the wooden benches at one side of the room.

Suddenly he was approached. Cedric turned his head to the side. Sitting in front of him was a man in a light-coloured coat and an olive-green woollen collar jumper. He struck up a brief conversation. The other man turned out to be Krasimir Zepterov, a 29-year-old young man living in Norway. He told him that he was here with his sister Zaaria Zepterov and that it was his first time taking part.
Cedric put his hand in his jacket pocket. He took out a packet of cigarettes and lit one. Then he poured some Palinka into one of the glasses and took a sip. How long had he not had a cigarette in his hand? 3 years? He was sure: 3 years. Three years ago he had smoked for the first and last time and now he was doing it again. He sighed. When he had emptied the glass, he took another half.

Meanwhile, he chatted to Krasimir. This acquaintance wasn't so bad after all. He was talking about which horse he would ride in the first phase and where he came from. Cedric listened to him attentively and had to grin. Maybe the journey wouldn't be so bad after all? What other interesting people would he meet?
He had to smile. They continued to talk. Until late in the evening. Then Cedric put the empty glass he had been holding on the table. He said goodbye and made his way out. He closed the door behind him and took a deep breath.

He looked up at the starry sky. "Watch me, will you?" he said with a smile and his gaze travelled across the starry sky. Then he pulled his hand out of his pocket. He turned the gold-plated ring on his left hand and frowned thoughtfully.
Then he felt a little of the little alcohol he had consumed begin to take effect. He hadn't noticed the time in the room due to the lack of oxygen. He must have been out of practice too. He suddenly burst out laughing. When he had calmed down again, he looked at the ring again. He stroked it with his hand. Then he made his way back to his hostel. The next few days would be exciting, that was clear.

While Cedric surely had some fun tonight, the fun part will probably soon end and the serious trip through the snow will take over~
