This was the touch-up version of my entry for the Overload 2011's digi art competition... I should have made it brighter.
Anyway... here you go: Epen Blader - a melee-type robot armed with a huge chopper. It's more like those ones appearing in fatansy story... powered by mysterious energy source like magical power for example
Pretty random. It's more about trialing my current painting approaches with hard and metallic objects. I guess the effect is getting close to what I want.

The idea of the blade design was to blend "fearsome", "offensive" & "drawing tool" features together to fit the competition theme. But I picked the wrong angle to the "drawing tool" factor. (The bottom part was supposed to resembling to a fountain pen tip). Sadly, it's very unobvious. Nonetheless, it should be a quite dangerous blade.

the sword craves the flesh and soul of enemies...or it may be bio alchool, it's pretty much the same thing...also, cool bot!

Interesting remark.
Though the design doesn't intend for those areas, this weapon should
leave some serious wounds/scars to the opponent.
