NOTE: It may take a while to load; blame me for wanting the music to be high-quality! And I'm still pretty new to Flash so I don't have any fancy bar to tell you it's loading, so you can read the following ramble instead.

I've been on a huge Disney kick ever since seeing The Princess and the Frog, and have downloaded a lot of Disney music. Even the music itself is so animated and lively, and it reminds me of my inspiration for drawing in the first place, which is quality animation. Therefore, it really gets my cartooning fuel going.

So I'm listening to "Gaston," and I just can't resist the image of my personal favorite egomaniac, Rawk Hawk, singing some of these lines. The song is perfect for him after he finally gets ousted from his championship seat, with his fans trying to cheer him up. So I start doodling... then think hey, I'll do most of the whole song and make this into a comic! But I couldn't resist how great it was to listen to the song while viewing the pictures, so I decided... to make it into a movie. And thus something totally new for me was created.

At first I was using Windows Movie Maker, which was alright, but then after many years of waiting, I finally went out and grabbed my knight in shining armor, Flash, and started over... and it was so much easier.

Most of the illustrations were hand-drawn, scanned, then vectorized, but I did a few on Flash. At one point I had the idea that maybe this should be fully colored, but then I slapped myself and considered that I could be using that time to make more cool stuff; it looks decent enough in black and white, and this is more about the humor than the artistic factor anyway.

Rawk Hawk needed an butt-kissing sidekick just for this song; I made him a Goomba because they are fun and easy to draw, plus they have that reputation already of being the downtrodden goons; I mean, doesn't LeFou in the movie just scream out "Goomba" to you anyway? It was an easy choice. Accordingly, this little guy is named LeGou, and he's become a part of my fanon as the Hawk's official little sidekick. (I considered giving him LeFou's hairstyle, but I thought that was overkill, plus it got in the way of his expressive eyebrows.) If you're curious, he's one of the Goomba Bros, pretty much the lowest tier on the Glitz Pit ladder.

Anyway, I've got so much to say because I spent a lot of time on this, but I'll cut myself off, and conclude with... I hope you enjoy this as much as I loved making it. It was a blast!
