Today is a sunny day here, but no photo can be taken in the garden, since everything is frozen: -11 °C/12 °F at night, -5.5 °C/22 °F in the early afternoon, with a considerable wind chill. And almost no snow at all to cover the plants.

So I show a nice photo of Tulipa cretica instead, an amazing wild tulip endemic to the island Crete. This island is full of flowers in spring, not only several wild tulip species, but also crocusses and orchids, peonies, different species of Anemone, Ranunculus, Gladiolus and Arum, together with all kind of shrubs and herbs etc. etc. The only condition: you have to go there in spring (in March or April or in the first weeks of May), since in summer, you can only find a lot of dry land everywhere - and many tourists at the beaches.
