Description
BangReally dunno what to say, the original image is HUGE (good for prints, huh?) - my computer has gone through hell with this one.
A quick note.... The image isn't realistic - that is, it is highly unlikely to happen. The eruption has been referenced from an atomic bomb blast, not volcano eruptions (since, there aren't many images on the net that I could get inspiration from, I used my imagination and some nuke blast refs). I'm gonna be showing close-ups later through further submissions (the nova up top is good enough on its own should I compose the crop right). And yes, top left is a nova, and there'll be a standalone version of that at a closer view coming soon.
the initial render can be viewed here
If you have any questions about the image, drop me a note or ask in the comment.
Feels good to be making art again
(this description is subject to change, I have a blank mind and forgot things I originally intended to put in)

It's clear from this that you are not afraid of vivid, strong colour.
I like, especially how the oranges complement the reds.
very cool --> fav

Simply amazing. It's obvious that you put lots of work into it.
I guess everyone already pointed out what they like, so I'll skip that for now.
There are just 2 things bothering me a bit, I read most of the comments to see if someone else noticed too (and maybe you gave him and answer), but I didn't really find such a comment.
Since My english isn't that great, it's easier for me to actually show you what I mean.
The first (and minor) thing is this gab : [link] . after you put so much work into it, you most likely wouldn't just "forget" it. It doesn't look like lava falling down, so I wonder what that is about.
Now the the second (major) thing that bugs me. The only one I saw mentioning this was =NullVoiD . If this [link] was the rough form of the vulcano, I really wonder about the place of the eruption. Maybe I just see it wrong, I'd really appreaciate it if you could tell me about it.
I hope you understood what I tried to say/show you, would love to explain it better. =/

If I were to stare at this for days, even weeks, I wouldn't notice one thing wrong with it. Nothing. This is truly amazing, and I can say in great trust, the best piece I've seen. Full stop. Capital Letter. I'm so inspired I'm going to explode.
