Bang
This one was fun, right from the initial terragen render . But... damn, I'm not doing a volcano again 
Really dunno what to say, the original image is HUGE (good for prints, huh?) - my computer has gone through hell with this one.
A quick note.... The image isn't realistic - that is, it is highly unlikely to happen. The eruption has been referenced from an atomic bomb blast, not volcano eruptions (since, there aren't many images on the net that I could get inspiration from, I used my imagination and some nuke blast refs). I'm gonna be showing close-ups later through further submissions (the nova up top is good enough on its own should I compose the crop right). And yes, top left is a nova, and there'll be a standalone version of that at a closer view coming soon.

What an amazing picture... the scale goes from cosmic down to a volcano, then that distant boat and the palm tree... Sort of like the animated zoom seen in various sci-fi movies as the camera seems to travel through space -- only here you've captured it in a single shot. Amazing.

fucking amazing...but the bottom of the eruption doesnt fit to well with the terragon render... It looks like it was just put there, err... no flow >.< But it's just at that spot. I would just - oh, nvm, i just had to slap myself a couple times for me to see it right >.< Didnt stare at it long enough... (If that last bit sounds like an insult, it's not >.<

Out of all the things you've done, I think this may be my absolute favorite. Such great colors, an amazing scene. That eruption I mean ... how ?! That looks so real it's incredible. Even the dang palm tree, how'd you do that ?? I ... ugh ... you rock! I don't know why I haven't :deevwatch:'d you yet, but I am now.

yes another fantastic piece mate.
starting at the top. i love the colours used for the piece, the oranges and reds give the whole active feel before even investigating the focal points. The top nebulae/explosion is superb. I can feel my nose against the monitor as im trying to inspect the minute details which are barely visible, but give the whole thing its character. im not totally sure about the very bright contrasted stars in the top left of the image, for me they are a little to big for their brightness. perhaps stars that size and brightness would have a little bit of a visible glow about them? however thats just one man being super picky.
Loving the sort of gas cloud formation as it reaches the centre of the image, and the addition of the two small planets in the ray of light is a great touch to boost perspective.
The volcanic eruption is something else. i knew you have talent with brushing but the ash clouds in the eruption are just... well picture perfect. the fire and lava is also nicely contrasted to give it a realistic look, and the volcanic bombs look superb. My only thing on this bit the the three bomb trails to the (top) left of the ash cloud. the seem almost like they were drawn in with crayon or something, it just seems a little too opaque for an ash trail.
The terragen is wonderful! one of the best beaches i've ever seen, it has an almost dreamy quality to it. the water is so detailed its beautiful. i think i would personally have had a little more of a reflection of whats going on around the volcanoe, but thats all about preference!
all in all, this piece is the best.

first of all your icon with your head shaking is very annoying
way too visual unfortunatly nothing really artistique too many objects for nothing ... i would say is a bad concept
but a nice picture for kids

Woah, someone's bitter. What does my avatar have to do with my art? And hell, feel free to say nothing is artistic but remember that's your point of view, and it seems many people disagree with you. I'd disagree strongly that there are many objects for nothing - maybe you just don't appreciate this genre properly
