Yet another AX print.... I love Maya. I love her from the very bottom of my fangirl's soul.
... which is an accurate descriptor of my feelings for just about any main character in the Phoenix Wright series, but hey.Nick, you should know better than to take catnaps when she's around. Tsk, tsk.

Suddenly, Joker walks into the room.
Joker: If you weren't so crazy then I'd think you were insane. (Laughs hysterically) Β
Phoenix wakes up, with the sound of a deranged lunatic laughing in his head. The whole room is empty and the lights are turned off. He turns around, and notices Joker playing mind games on him. His heart rate accelerates at an alarming rate.
Next, Phoenix wakes up and finds out he was just having a bad dream. He sees Maya holding a large paper bag.
Phoenix: What are you doing?
Maya: Nothing.
Phoenix: Really? Just because I have a magatama doesn't mean I need to use it to see your dirty little secret.
Maya: Ok. You got me. It was Pearly's idea.
Phoenix: Now your going to blame her for this? I've seen that look in her eyes a million times. It's enough to prove she's innocent.
Maya: But-
Phoenix: Β You are holding the only proof behind your back. A brown sack full of air. If Pearl wanted to wake me up she probably would have just slapped me. I rest my case.
Maya: (Waits for Nick to go back to sleep aaaand...)
Phoenix:Β Β WTF Maya?!
Pearls: (Starts to cry)
Phoenix: Well, I guess there's no point in trying now. (Walks over to the desk and cracks open a bottle of Scotch)
Pearls: I hope this has taught you a lesson, mystic Maya! (Goes to sleep next to him)
Meanwhile, Maya prepares something much more devious. She grabs an air horn, and Pearls suddenly notices. She grabs it from Maya and tosses it out the window, down the alley between the office and the Gatewater hotel. It hits the ground hard enough to trigger it, and sirens are heard in the distance. Detective Gumshoe bursts into the office, and Maya is charged for disturbing the peace.
Pearls: Aren't we going to get her out of jail?
Phoenix: She'll be out by tomorrow. I want her to think about what she's done while I take this opportunity to finally get back to sleep.
Phoenix tilts his head back, then the phone suddenly starts to ring.
Phoenix: Wright and Co. Law offices. Wright speaking.
Maya: Nick! Please get me out of here!
Phoenix: Maya, listen. I'm tired, I'm cranky, and I worked my ass off for 9 hours today, attending a trial, and filing all this paperwork. You should be out by noon tomorrow. Now if you're done bothering me, I'm going to go back to sleep, and pick you up from the detention center tomorrow.
Maya, no!!!! Let him sleep! He had a long day!

Maya: So when do we get to go back to sleep? That investigation was tiring.
Phoenix: Β I can't go back to sleep. The moment is finally gone. Thanks a lot Maya!
Pearls: On the plus side, we finish the investigation a day early, right?
Phoenix: Β There's that too. But nothing is more important than the health and well-being of one individual Maya. Try to remember that when someone wakes you up at 2 o clock in the morning!

Suddenly, Pearls turns into Mia.Β
The bag pops.
Phoenix: ?! No rest for the weary huh? Come on Maya. If I take you out for burgers maybe you'll shut up for once.
Phoenix gets up
"Wha?! Cheif, what are you doing here?!"
In his head he still thinks he's asleep until Maya pours a bottle of ice-cold water down his neck.
Pearls: (Channeled by Mia) Maya. I believe you owe Mr. Wright an apology.
Maya: Aw. Come on sis. It was just a joke.
Phoenix: At least let me get my shirt on. It's still raining out there.
All right. Let's go. We'll check the crime scene for evidence and grab burgers on the way there.
Maya: Yay!
Pearls turns back into her normal form and goes with them.
Pearls: Did I just hear Mr. Nick say we were going to grab burgers?
Phoenix: Yes Pearls. That's exactly what I said. It's not as though we can conduct an investigation on an empty stomach.Β
