Description
This is my first post post using a written story to enhance my visuals, instead of using a comic book format. I understand that reading takes a great deal more effort to invest yourself in than a comic book does but I think everyone who's followed me this far won't have too much trouble, there is a lot more detail to be had this way also which means it can do the characters more justice as well as being easier to mend mistakes, please critique my writing and point out spelling mistakes it's the only way I get better---

Story
When the last doors opened all hell broke lose. The creatures were numerous and swarmed without prejudice; anyone was an enemy, anything was there prey.
Samus and Rhodey, being the fastest, most agile and heaviest hitters of the group charged forth, Rhodey leapt into the air on her thrusters whilst Samus morphed into a ball, this was the first time the Vindicates had seen her do it and both were insanely fast. Samus had singled out the leader of the Androids, figuring that if she could take her out the rest would be less coordinated.
Rhodey, however, was absolutely fascinated by the Yautja which had been following them. She knew the creature was stalking them, she had even picked it up on her scanners before it moved out of view. Now it was brandishing a weapon Rhodey had never seen before, and she was familiar with every weapon in the galaxy, her company manufactured a good portion of them, more-so the alien had just displayed an ability which puzzled her, it seemed almost like telekinesis. Such an ability was known to exist in rare occurrences on Earth, but most cases now were in biotics, yet there was no indication of Dark Matter being used by the alien whose species aren't known to utilise it. It could of been technological, because what the Yautja are known for impressive is feats in that regard but still, this is the first she'd heard of it. And a first for Rhodey is a first for anyone most of the time.
She closed in on it's location, more-so to get a better look at it's blade than anything; she could care less if it slaughtered these androids or the creatures coming from the tunnels, but it targeted her with it's shoulder mounted cannon. She evaded and fired back with her repulsor cannon, the beam was deflected by the sword; absolutely amazing - she thought.
The Yautja wields the sword with training and style not recorded by encounters without Yautja, perhaps he is of an unknown tribe? Suddenly, she felt a grip around her throat, a grip that wasn't there...
---
On the other side of the battlefield the UNSC took cover as the Androids fired upon them; it was an idiotic and reckless move Commander Rupert thought, the Xeno's were moving in on them and now there forces were split on two fronts, simply an appalling tactical error on there part. The Commander would of gladly put aside his pride to fight the greater threat but apparently these machines weren't capable of that. He ordered his men to stay down and not to fire directly on the droids if they don't advance on there position, he knew that there were too many Xeno's in this facility for them to fight alone and leaving as many Androids between his men and them would be the best course of action. Whilst his men covered he put out a call to the Federation and these rogues to approach his squad for sanctuary, promising them temporary safety.
---
Spartan Ben-174 , Sam Gideon and Alcatraz were running at high speeds through the entrance of the facility as Cerberus drop-ships rained down upon them, shock troops were deployed almost the instant there feet touched the inside of the base. They ran under fire, occasionally firing back upon there enemies but were stopped by the sound of screams and gunfire ahead, and then suddenly they were there; the labs. In far distance of the room below them were the Shepard Twins and with an unknown companion.
"Shepard's!" shouted Ben, the Spartan's voice sounding eerily stern with his raspy voice. Jane, the biotic and harder fighter of the two and the unknown companion were already looking at there direction as they came into view, the sound of more gunfire divided there attention from the battle ahead whilst John Shepard kept his attention on the battle out there. Jane raised her weapon at them before speaking, as a warning, but before she could get a word out-
"It's Cerberus" stated the Spartan, almost coldly, pure business. Jane nodded, a mutual enemy meant no discussion about loyalty was needed. Ben ushered his squad safely to the Shepard's position as she provided cover fire for them, Cerberus was indeed hot on there tail, the unknown companion provided accurate cover as well utilising an M-3 Predator pistol because the plasma cutter he wielded was utterly useless in this scenario, but he handled the pistol as acutely as a special forced operative. Ben and is squad soon found themselves following John Shepard's lead as he relayed orders to move out of the position they were caught being sandwiched in.
---
Rhodey was in trouble, suspended no longer by her own suits propulsion but some force of unknown measure, she fought hard against it but was only met by greater pressure, so she struggled the words "Jarvis, run scans... give me a solution to this" the Yautja tilted it's head, seemingly fascinated with Rhodey as it held her suspended, and without breaking concentration managed to turn and decapitate one of the creatures coming up behind it from the doorway.
I cannot detect any cause for the pressure on your throat and body, but it is not an illusion; you are being choked to death ma'am - said Jarvis, matter of factly in his trademark British voice.
"Thnnnn'cks" responded Rhodey sarcastically, still struggling to speak.
But I have alerted your comrades of your condition -
---
Samus had unfolded from her morph ball state to deliver a flying kick to the head Android, she was hunched over the fallen boss who laid at the base of the computer terminal, evading and striking power beams back at the female Android's two guards when a familiar but surprising voice entered her personal space, the experience was unnerving;
Sorry to disturb you Miss Aran, but Rhodey is in dire need of assistance
It was Jarvis, the damn machine was inside her helmet "We're only a minute into the damn battle-" she said as she peaked over to check on her squad-mate, who she knew was more than capable of defending herself, but then she noticed something, the way she was held in the air, there was no propulsion from her suit, and the Predator's hand was raised, like sorcery-
That may be so ma'am, but the source of her peril is a mystery, be careful - said Jarvis
Samus scanned the Yautja with her visor and came up with nothing except an unknown energy signature invisible to spectrum of light, the energy field seemed to be coming from the Yautja but it also flowed around it, and that energy, whatever it was, was suffocating Rhodey, so Samus took aim with her arm cannon at the Yautja and dispelled death at it, it immediately turned to face the barrage of power beam shots which were deflected either by some unknown force as the shots mysteriously and erratically changed course or were deflected by the plasma sword it carried, but the main objective was achieved, whatever spell it held over Rhodey was broken as she had fallen from it's grip and landed on the floor, she immediately gave the order to her squad for a full retreat, taking Commander Rupert's offer. As she flew away from the Yautja it's attention was caught by the swarm of leathery black serpent-like monsters which hissed and spat acid into his sword, she ordered Samus to leave him and focus on them, they were quickly overrunning everything and soon there'd be no Androids or Yautja to fight - at least so she thought.
As her squad and the Federation troopers made there way to the Commander Rhodey noticed the ONI Infiltration team was with the Shepard's just as John was reporting there presence over the private comms. She welcomed them over the other things, which she was beginning to greatly suspect were the frightening "Xenomorphs." The damn things matched the description she had heard, but she wasn't sure they existed until now. As they retreated they killed anything and everything that threatened them on the way to the Commander's position, and Samus showed off an impressive display of strength as some Xeno's closed in on her, she grabbed the tail of one as it tried to stab her and used it's body as a weapon against another one of it's kind.... like some kind of, super-smash powered brawler. In the background Jane Shepard flung Xenomorphs with her biotics to keep them at a distance, relying on her hand held weapons as a secondary. The teams all held out as long as they could at the entry to the east wing of the facility, but the Xeno's were swarming out en-masse from all kinds of crevices, the Androids started taking aim at all of them, Cerberus was sticking it's guns out at everything and that Yautja with the weird telekinetic powers were all cause for concern among the less powerful fighters of this fragile alliance.
Commander Rupert began ushering his squad into the corridors behind them, Rhodey and Adam Malkovich did the same, leaving those same Commanders the last ones to leave the battlefield, covering there allies retreat.
"We have automated sentry turrets to cover us once we're in the safe-zone, the entire area is barricaded off to prevent them from getting in, even the vents are sealed" Commander Rupert stated, trying to ease his new allies minds as they ran for there lives down the corridor behind there squads, the turrets were in view.
"Once we're in the clear of danger we're going to have a very serious talk about this facility, Commander"
"I don't answer to the Galactic Federation; what the hell is a general doing on a field mission anyway? Bloody ridiculous" responded Rupert, his British accent more defined now that he was under less pressure
Rhodey laughed "What's the UNSC doing working with Weyland? And don't you dare say it's 'classified'"
Rupert paused for a moment before answering "that information is designated as officially secret and accessible only to authorized people" the demeanour in his retort was still serious, despite the joke
"Did you seriously just give me the dictionary definition of classified as an answer?"
"You said not to say it."
"If we weren't running from a horde of death I'd repulsor your face off" She stated it nonchalantly, as if it weren't really bothering her but that she meant what she said.
The teams had made it the entry at the far end of the corridor, and as the commanders ran past the two sentry turrets they opened a barrage of fire on the Xenomorphs chasing them, about two dozen or so, many were still being shot at and thrown around by the Yautja, remaining Androids and the newly arrived Cerberus soldiers.
When the team came through the entry, many were surprised to meet more surviving UNSC personnel and equipment in a decent sized room, almost like a miniature base inside the facility. A few more Marines and Naval Guards were stationed here supervised by even less N7's and ODST's, making sure the sentry's were loaded with ammunition and ready to place more down if need be. Some were barricaded up in the large vents, seemingly making sure that none of the monsters somehow managed to break through. Commander Rupert explained that explosives had collapsed the vents and that this part of the base was thankfully supported by it's own life-support unit, but because the creatures still tried to melt there way in through the vents an occasional grenade or ricochet of bullets were needed to dissuade them. The Commander lead them all to an Elevator in the middle of the room which apparently rose up to the Command centre, Rhodey noted that Samus hadn't said a word amongst her new company, but she was caught staring at both the General Malkovich and the Spartan, both of which stared back, but no words.

At least the Spartan, the Shepards, Alcatraz, and even Issac can acquire weapons and other supplies from the UNSC survivors while they're there.

Cool, we get more action in one chapter than the entire comic thus far!... I meant that as a complement... I like how you gave new characters actual personality instead of making them cannon fodder. I had a difficult time understanding where everyone went and exactly how they got there. The picture itself is sort of why since it's such a huge shot angled in such a way where I can't get a very good look at where everybody is at the start. I can see Rhodey, but I can't see any of the other Vindicates. Maybe include multiple angles of the same picture if that's possible, because it will be really hard to get everything of value into one picture when there's so many people, factions, and events happening in one shot.
Also, if Samus ends up scanning the Yautja the Scan Visor would probably tell her about the Force or at the very least all of the Force abilities the Yautja has. The Scan Visor has scanned ghosts among other things and explained what they can do and what they are, so the Force shouldn't be too far out of the way. I bring this up since scanning the Yautja should have been one of the first things Samus did. Releasing Rhodey was Samus' top priority, but scanning shouldn't have been an afterthought. Knowledge is power after all.

Yes it was a very big challenge getting everyone into shot, simply put the other Vindicates members stayed at the doorway and there shadows can't even be seen where I positioned there models (sorry) lol but getting there shadows to appear is harder than it looks. I was hoping the writing could fill in all the gaps, I will be making one more render to depict this battle before moving on with the story though as I originally intended to do a different angle showing the other half of the Vindicates and Archangel470 's team but... I just wasn't inspired enough
however I hope the render I am making turns out well enough.
Samus has scanned ghosts and stuff? Hmm. Well the force is mystical, it's not magic as Lucas has stated but it has mystical properties, that seems like something which needs greater research.
Perhaps I can edit the story so as she could of seen an aura of some sorts.

There's no way she could see any sort of aura unless it would show up on one of her different visors like the Thermal Visor. She scanned Chozo Ghosts in Prime 1 and dealt with the Reptilicus in Prime 3 and they, along with their War Golems, can use magic to a certain extent. The Force isn't entirely mystical though with stuff like Midoclorians. I'd say Samus knows that magic exists since she's dealt with supernatural stud but the mystical side isn't her specialty. There's nothing to say what her expertise in the supernatural is but her way of dealing with it is by shooting it. Also only the Power Beam can hurt the Chozo Ghosts if you intend to use Ghosts in Amalgamation later on.

There is a difference between mystical and magical, whilst the terms are related and are somewwat synonymous (closely related) they are distinguishable
Magic definition:
1. The power of apparently influencing events by using mysterious or supernatural forces.
2. Having or apparently having supernatural powers.
Mystical:
1. relating to mystics or religious mysticism.
having a spiritual symbolic or allegorical significance that transcends human understanding.
relating to ancient religious mysteries or other occult or esoteric rites.
My point was that the Force is more Mystical (aka spiritual) than it is magical, because George has said that is isn't magic but it is spiritual.
The reason I said she might detect an aura is because even though the force isn't technically magic and can operate like it and Force user tend to have a lot of energy surrounding them, they even have "force-walls" to prevent other force users from ragdolling them around (only works on equals and lesser, if someone more powerful comes along they can break the force wall and just straight up force choke you) and if her visor can detect energy, even supernatural energy at that, then she might be able to detect mystical energies like the force. What do you reckon?
(Also let's pretend that Midichlorians don't exist lmao)
And I'll keep the power beam in mind if I do use them later

Samus' equipment can locate and comprehend what ghosts are and what they can do, so I have no doubt that Samus can detect the Force in some way, even if it's a purely metaphysical thing that can't properly be explained with words. The Chozo have multiple mystical properties to them like with their technology being so advanced it seems like magic to a sense like Samus' Power Suit. They were the ones who visited the Reptilicus on Bryyo and warned them to combine the ways of new (science) and old (rituals and mysticism), so they must have some knowledge of the mystic stuff. That last sentence was pure head canon by me. Also, Samus' X-Ray visor is able to view Chozo Ghosts at all times and even allows them to show up on Samus' radar/tracker. Not that the X-Ray visor will let Samus literally see the Force, but I thought I should bring that up.

Well if she can see ghosts and her technology has mystical properties, and the force itself has ghosts, I think it's fair to say that she can detect it.
I shall write that into this story here once I publish the second part, everyone will get a notification of the update to the story

I don't believe Samus has ever seen anything magical or mystical as a sort of aura unless it was some sort of magical energy that was visible to the naked eye like when Samus fought a Bryyonian War Golem. If Samus scans the Yautja or another Force sensitive, I have no doubt that Samus' Scan Visor would be able to detect the Force since it's something the scanned subject can utilize. Samus' Scan Visor has given Samus all the information she needs in seconds for things she has never seen before like Phazon, a literal sentient radiation source that can practically break the laws of physics with the stuff it can do like give Phazon Metroids the ability the become intangible and phase through objects among other things.

Okay, so you seem to have some problem with the word aura for some reason yet suggest she can still detect the force through her technology, so let me ask you something; how would you depict that visually or with words? The force is an energy field, something that penetrates and binds users to the universe around them, force sensitives can detect other's force energy signature (aka "aura") through the force, there's even a power based on the ability to see the force
starwars.wikia.com/wiki/False_…
the definitions of "aura" are:
1. the distinctive atmosphere or quality that seems to surround and be generated by a person, thing, or place."the ceremony retains an aura of mystery"
2. (in spiritualism and some forms of alternative medicine) a supposed emanation surrounding the body of a living creature and regarded as an essential part of the individual.
To me, that word seems to suit how a person through very advanced technology could detect a mystical energy within a being visually, as to me an aura depicts the force present or "strong" within an individual. Unless you have something else in mind in which case I'm genuinely open to suggestions

I mean that Samus' Scan Visor views things in the visible light spectrum, turning on the Scan Visor won't suddenly cause a Force Sensitive to be surrounded by an aura since you can't see that in the visible light spectrum, but the Scan Visor can still tell Samus about the Force depending on who she scans.

My question was how can the visor detect it them? How would you describe it then?
If she can see ghosts and then it'd be plausible that she can see force ghosts right?
And if she can see force ghosts which are arguably an avatar of the force much like a force wielder (except stronger or more "pure since they're dead) then she should be able to see the energy surrounding and emanating from a force user/sensitive in the way of, aura's and/or streams of the energy coming from the centre of his being. The force was based off of Chi and Energy is vibration after all, which generates heat.
Idk, maybe I'm being too science-y about it, but you still have to give me an alternative to aura if you don't want me to use it lol. I mean it's easy to say she can detect it but HOW would she detect it? What is she seeing when she scans it?

I assuming most of this conversation has been an error of communication somewhere and partially because I think you haven't seen how the Chozo Ghosts fight and what they can do. Chozo Ghosts can disappear and reappear at will, but in gameplay they have to be visible in order to attack Samus. Once the Chozo Ghosts are visible, you can scan them and find out that they can be tracked using X-Ray scanning. Here's the scan log from the Wikitroid: "As these entities phase in and out of existence, the only way to track them accurately is with x-ray scanning. This partially phased nature makes them invulnerable to natural energy types, such as fire, ice, and electricity. Their aggressive and erratic behavior is most likely due to the corrupting effects of Phazon in the Tallon IV environment. They appear to be drawn to Chozo religious sites, where they wreak havoc upon anything that dares enter the area." This also shows that phazon can corrupt literally anything from organic creatures, machines, cyborgs and even ghosts.

Going back to this comment because of what you said about the visible light spectrum; I think the confusion comes from when you said she scans these ghosts and "tracks" them with her x-ray scanner, I'm a little fuzzy on what you mean, did you mean she can only see them when using her X-Ray, or that she scans them with her x-ray when they're visible on there own (when attacking) and then she can see/track them with her x-ray vision after?
Because in my mind when I said she'd see an aura and/or energy field I was imagining her using her X-Ray scanner like you said, because X-Ray's can see beyond the visible light spectrum into the "electromagnetic spectrum," with the force being an energy field (some of which is depicted and seen as blue waves, lightning, etc) I was basing my thesis on this amalgamated information.

When Samus has her Combat Visor active and can see in the visible light spectrum, she can only see and interact with the Chozo Ghosts when they willingly become visible in the visible light spectrum to either attack Samus or do something else. The X-Ray Visor lets Samus see in the X-Ray light spectrum to see and interact with the Chozo Ghosts at all times, whether the Chozo Ghosts are visible in the visible light spectrum doesn't matter. The Scan Visor operates in the visible light spectrum like the Combat Visor does, and Samus can only scan the Chozo Ghosts when they are visible in the visible light spectrum. Hopefully it will help you out a bit if I link you to each visor's specific page on Wikitroid. Combat visor: metroid.wikia.com/wiki/Combat_… . Note for the Combat Visor is that the GF Marines use it as well as stated on the wiki. Scan Visor: metroid.wikia.com/wiki/Scan_Vi… . X-Ray Visor: metroid.wikia.com/wiki/X-Ray_V… . I will have a look at that but from the information you just told me I'd assume that her scan visor wouldn't be able to detect anything, but her X-Ray one would see something, even if it's faint, of an energy signature (the force)

Wow, I imagine a Sith Lord could potentially use Phazon then to become a Force Ghost that isn't attached/bound to an object... because Sith can't become Force Ghosts like Jedi can, in Legends they could by imbedding a portion of there spirit in an object like a Holocron or a Urn or something, but unlike light side force ghosts were able to attack things and manipulate the physical world much like how you describe there Chozo ghosts do.
Still though it doesn't answer my question, I get that (phazon) ghosts in the Metroid universe are different from ghosts in other universes but how can I describe how she sees the force being used or being present within someone in Amalgamation?
I'll note to use X-Ray scanning though, this kind of reminds me of the movie Spectral.

1) Chozo Ghosts aren't different from regular ghosts, Phazon just makes them go berserk and attack anything within their territory. 2) I don't think there will be any way for Samus to actually see the Force being used unless it's something like a Force Barrier that visible to anyone in the visible light spectrum. If someone is using Force Choke on someone else, there's no way for Samus to see the Force itself as some sort of aura holding and/or constricting itself around someone. the Chozo have some sort of psychic abilities because the Prime 1 scans indicate that they were able to see into the future to a limited degree, so Samus probably has some sort of psychic potential herself. Whether or not this makes her Force sensitive is up for debate. I'll get back to you on this, but you might want to look at the Chozo page of Wikitroid: metroid.wikia.com/wiki/Chozo

I don't think Rhodey would ever say something like this in any situation, let alone when she's currently in the most fragile alliance in the history of the universe.
Also, in Metroid lore Adam is of the rank of Commander when he died in Other M, so I doubt Adam would be a General at this point in Amalgamation. Maybe make him a Major or something.

Well he's a spartan (He's the one Archangel made with the Blue armor.) so he's basically a super soldier, I was thinking of perhaps him being somehow related to Captain America since your story takes place in the future he could be Cap's great grandson or something.

That's actually a great idea
he could even be a hybrid spartan! Like, one which had the augmentations but also the super soldier serum!

Hehehe I thought so to. He could be the counter part to Rhodey since she's the descendant of Iron Man, Angel can be the descendant of Captain America.
Was even thinking of having Angel discover Cap's shield and ends up using it. Not sure how tough he'd be of a spartan though. I'd imagine stronger and faster then a normal one, possibly better than Chief but not sure.

That all depends on what you mean by "better"
I have a small issue with making OC characters inherently "better" than like, established franchised heroes because it just seems like poor taste, which is why I've reframed from making a personal OC so far lol
I have no problem with them, through hardship and sacrifice, becoming equals to there counterparts but it'd have to be a process, because the heroes themselves that they live up too had to go through trials to get to where they are today.
As far as him being stronger, that's fine, and it'd be expected. Any soldier that receives the surgical augmentations after getting juiced up on serum has to be a cut above other Spartans in physical feats, that's like stacking steroids up on top of steroids lol but being stronger and faster than chief won't make a character his equal.
In fact, in cannon, there were several Spartans that were taller and stronger than him, or faster like Kelly-087 who was the fastest living human alive augmented or not, or a better marksman Linda -058 who was like the Hawkeye of that universe and never missed anything and made impossible shots. This was because every Spartan had something special about them that others didn't and Chief's special thing was his luck; it's what makes him the protagonist and canonically what got him through the war without dying.
There was even a Spartan in the books called Kurt who had a special "ability" which was like a really grounded version of pre-cognition, what I mean by that is that it was no "spider-sense," the character himself called it his "gut" but he was right about it every time and it saved him and his squad from danger. Another way to word it is that it was a realistic take on the supernatural phenomenon of "sensing danger", like how when we know people are watching us but we don't know how, Kurt knew when danger was around, he just called it his gut and made no big deal of it because he couldn't explain it himself, so it was never stated in the novel that it was pre-cognition as the ability doesn't exist in halo lore in a technical sense like how spider-man uses it but if you call it "gut" or "instinct" than well, more realistic lol.
So I have no problem with Spartans or OC's being special in there own ways (in fact I encourage it) or in one way or another being "better" than Chief but the mans an idol and at the point of entering the universe you can only hope to learn from his example, the audience isn't going to like someone until they've proven themselves. Oro is Biotic, that doesn't make him better than Thel Vadam (the Arbiter) because the Arbiter is special for an entirely different set of reasons, Oro does his own thing in the universe and doesn't try to live in anyone's shadow or take it over and just kills whoever he can and earns a name for himself that way haha.
In the case of Captain America what made him special was not just his bravery, and the fact he was some kind of inherently good noble person but that he is persistent and determined. Someone who doesn't give up is very dangerous, willpower is a power of it's own and it's what got him through his war with Hydra. I'd suggest (and also guess at this point) that descendants of his would harbour similar characteristics purely from genes alone, but make him his own person. It's fine if he wants to live up to the examples of Steve or John but if he tries to be "better" than them and is arrogant about it people are going to laugh at him like they did at Kylo Ren in the force awakens, building a legend takes time.

I meant in a power and skill sense, as for if whether or not Angel were to live up to Cap's examples I may have an idea where he doesn't actually know he's a Descendant of Captain America, at least for awhile anyway. Not sure how yet but I might work on that if I decide to go that route.
Funny how I forgot that Kelly and Linda were faster and a better marksman than Chief. lol

Chief's thing was always luck, he's the luckiest Spartan, the others each have something else special about them that makes them unique.
People have done similar things with stuff like, Vampires, giving them each a certain extra power to distinguish them on top of there vampiric abilities it helps set em apart.
I like the idea that he doesn't know though! When he finds out he'll be all like "Whaaa!?"
