URDNOT CAMP, TUCHANKA
In the rubble-strewn camp, Sangheili Shipmaster Oro 'Varamee approaches the rock throne of Urdnot Wrex, followed by Jiralhanae Chieftan Varkous, and a San'Shyuum ambassador atop a gravity throne, who brings with him 4 Sangheili Honour Guards.
Wrex's guards step forth to block their entry. One guard turns his head to Oro, "Our Clan Leader has requested to speak with the Zealot only". Varkous makes a snarky comment and laughs. The Prophet is clearly insulted, but has to agree. They're on Tuchanka, and in this domain Wrex has power, not the Covenant or its Prophets.
Oro looks puzzled, "Why me?"
Wrex speaks up so they can all hear, speaking over his guards "On Tuchanka we only do business with warriors. The strong represent clans, not feeble old men. As for why I picked you, you've become noticed by the larger galaxy for employing species outside the Covenant into your ranks. I am curious about you, Sangheili." The Prophet is even more visually displeased, but bows his head anyway. This is part of diplomacy, if you want to get anywhere with your enemies, you must be willing to give and take.
Oro steps forward "I will do my best to represent the Covenant and our business here, for I wish this meeting to not end violently. Perhaps we can part ways as brothers."
Wrex grunts. "We never allow aliens to do business on Tuchanka, but for you we've made a very limited exception. Whether or not this ends violently depends on you Sangheili. Speak your business and leave, nobody will stop you."
Oro bows his head and continues. "As you know, the Covenant is waging holy war against the humans, and as of recently the humans have been allowed to join the Citadel Council".
"Well yeah, I was there when it happened."
Oro looks puzzled, "I was unaware of that."
Wrex chuckles "Well of course that information would slip your mind, too much time praying to Forerunners, or do the Prophets do all of the worshipping for you?" Oro clenches his fist and twitches slightly, but composes himself."How exactly were you at that Battle of the Citadel?"
Wrex considers Oro for a second before responding "It's a long story. Perhaps you should finish telling me yours first."
"If you were there, than you know of our common enemy, the Citadel Council, and the humans are now one, and must be extinguished." Wrex stares at Oro unmoved, and he continues. "We are here because we seek allies in our struggle, and the Krogan are among of the deadliest warriors in the galaxy. We understand that you also have a history of being used and manipulated by the Citadel Council, as two wars have demonstrated."
Wrex nods. "Yes, the end of the Rachni wars saw our species neutered and the War of Two Councils saw Krogan on both sides, much like like the Krogan mercenaries of this new war you've started. They are directionless, fighting for whichever side pays the most, no honour."
"It is true, and why I am here, as a courtesy of the Krogans I have befriended. They may have been directionless on their own, but the Krogan I've employed have found purpose under our guidance and with that a reason to fight, with that they have found honour. Even as we speak, Covenant scientists are working on a cure for the genophage as repayment for their service to not only the Prophets and our mighty Covenant, but to the Forerunners themselves. It is the divine proclamation of the three Hierarchs that the humans are vermin to be exterminated, this is evident as we witness the taint and pollution they bring to every world they touch. We wish to forge an alliance to both destroy this corruption and punish the Citadel for aiding the vermin in these atrocities."
The Krogan clan leader gives a soft chuckle. "That's funny, my experience with humans has led me to a different conclusion"
Oro tilts his head in inquiry, "And those are...?"
"How much exactly do you know about Saren and his army of Geth and Krogan, Sangheili? Because to me it sounds like you are not very well informed of my involvement in those... adventures."
“I know simply that he challenged the Citadel and their power. Saren, though a traitor to his fellow Spectres, was close to defeating them, and would have, were it not for the humans at the Battle of the Citadel. I questioned why the machines would follow Saren, but I wasn’t sure what to believe.”
Wrex nodded, again. "And what of the Spectres who led the campaign against Saren?"
“Only that they were human, which is more troubling and evident that the Citadel was always going to favour them no matter what.”
"Your bias against the humans doesn't surprise me, but I never really understood why a people as seemingly smart as yours would enact genocide on an entire species just because some old hags told them so. Seems a bit extreme, even to the Krogan. No Sangheili ever questions why they need to slaughter innocent women and children for the sake of their gods? Where's the honour in that?"
The Prophet looked to Varkous, and the Jiralhanae knew he was going to intervene. The Prophet knew this would come up. Wrex wasn't going to be easy to sway.
Oro looked numbed as he stated, “It’s because we have a duty to perform,” he recites, almost like a script he had read a thousand times before. “We are called to do what must be done. Whether we like it or not is out of question, we follow the will of both the Prophets and the gods. As I said already, humanity's filth can be seen, but we do not try to understand the will of gods, for they are beyond us.”
"But not beyond the 'Prophets' understanding...?"
The Prophet Ambassador finally spoke up. “The Sangheili have learned, through trial and error, why not to question the wisdom of the Hierarchs.”
Oro internally cringes at the error the ambassador has committed.
The San'Shyuum continued, "To question them is not only heresy, but results in great shame and disgrace, if not even greater consequences.”
Oro sighs and lowers his head as Wrex starts to get up, evidently pissed off. "I don't care who you are in the Covenant, but when you are on Tuchanka you will obey my rules, and one of those rules is to speak when spoken too. You will know your place here 'Prophet' or my guards will show you out. All five hundred of them."
The Prophet loses his composure. He may be a dignitary, but his species are not accustomed to being spoken down to “I am the voice of the High Council and of the Hierarchs!!! I will not b-”
The massive Brute Chieftain at his side nudges him, as a sign to shut up.
Wrex shouts, his anger evident, "On my world we value strength, and these Prophets you follow show none! I only give you my attention, Sangheili, because our kind have similar traditions. I've seen Sangheili prowess on the battlefield firsthand, I respect your kind, but not them. But all I hear coming from your mouth is religious dogma. It sounds to me like your people are on a leash, a leash that your masters -" Wrex points to the Prophet "do not wish for you to see. We Krogan know all too well about those. If you're as smart as I believe you to be, you will keep your mouths shut and listen as I speak my part."
Oro lowers his head in submission “Very well, Wrex.”
"Good. I allowed you speak your piece, now you will listen to mine. I'm going to explain to you, Sangheili, what I learned on Virmire and Illos, and hope your thick Sangheili skull takes it in, and coming from a Krogan, that statement should bear heavy on you."
Wrex sits back down. "The humans you are speaking of, the Spectres, there were two of them. Siblings, named Shepard. The Council never favoured humans, in fact, most in Citadel space distrusted them, and your campaign against them didn't make it any easier. Everyone knew if they were admitted into the Citadel there'd be war. Saren hated humans too. You and him would probably get along just fine. I doubt you're going to believe me, but there's bigger things going on in this universe than humans messing up a few colonies"
Wrex allows himself to laugh loudly at that, "The Geth never followed Saren, they followed a Reaper. The "Geth" starship that lead the assault on the Citadel was not Geth at all. The first reports that were dismissed, although they sound like pyjak shit, were true. It was a sentient warship that was trying to bring in an armada through the Citadel Relay, which would have wiped out all life in the galaxy, including your Covenant. These Reapers played a part in both the Protheans' and Forerunners' disappearance long ago. By now you're probably wondering how I know these things, and why I am so sure. I know all of this because the Shepards admitted a variety of aliens into their crew. I was one of those aliens."
Oro, shocked, steps back a little as Wrex continues.
"I was there when Saren cured the genophage for our people, and thanks to the Shepards, I saw how he was going to use it to get a hold on our people. Destroying Saren's genophage cure freed the Krogan from his manipulation. I used that to spur the clans to unify under Clan Urdnot, and it would not have been possible were it not for the human Spectres. The Prothean ruins on Illos is where we discovered the truth about the Reapers, and whether you like it or not, two humans, as well as the thousands who served in that fleet they brought in, saved this entire galaxy and everyone in it that day, including that frail long-neck," pointing to the ambassador again, "this is why I figured you were uninformed. Had you of known this, you would never assume that I would ever allow the Krogan to become slaves to another empire, or fight to extinguish humanity, genophage cure be damned."
The Sangheili Honor Guards become restless, as do the Krogan. The Prophet was absolutely furious at these accusations, despite his fear that they were true, for he also heard rumours of this through Covenant intelligence. Hearing the same thing from Wrex was like hearing an echo of confirmation. You can ignore reports from one place but when you start hearing the same stories from multiple people, your mind begins to lend credit to the claims “B-blasphemy! Lies! You speak falsehoods and delusions!”
"You cannot come into my home and tell me what I did and did not see, listen, 'Prophet'. The Krogan have no grief with humanity, especially me, and whilst the Covenant and Citadel waste time, resources and ships fighting each other, there are other more dangerous things lurking out there in dark space coming to destroy us all. There's more to the Reapers' story. Their connection to the Protheans, and this parasite which they fight, which also had a hand in destroying the Forerunners. I don't know how exactly they're all connected, but I know shit's going to hit the fan real soon, and when it does, we're all going to get hit, they're all coming for us. We're simply food to them, or something to harvest."
Varkous spoke up, in anger, “You’re wasting a great opportunity to help your people for delusions!”
"I won't waste the Krogans' time fighting in this war when there's a bigger one to prepare for. Chieftain, you all may not believe me now, but when the time comes, we will all need to band together, or we will all perish."
While the Prophet and Varkous focus on Wrex, Oro listened carefully to what the Krogan said.
"The Forerunners' and Protheans' empires fought each other to ruin, and these things cleaned up the rest, we're seeing history repeat itself yet again. I won't have any part of it. You may leave peacefully, as neither friend nor foe, the Krogan will remain neutral."
The Prophet shakes his head, and then announces "Come now, let's not waste anymore time on this blasphemer, he is obviously too far gone in his own delusions." As Oro comes closer, the Prophet leans in "We have a few other clans to visit, who should be more willing to accept our generous offers. Clan Gatatog is much more traditional and a rival to Clan Urdnot, I hear. And you have already employed many Krogan under Clan Weyrloc, isn't that correct?"
"Yes, noble Prophet, Clan Weyrloc is closely tied to the Blood Pack. Weyrloc's clan leader founded the Blood Pack, and most of their Krogan are sourced from that same clan." "Then it is time we pay Chieftan Guld a visit as well."

Awesome Are you planning to make more of these? (Maybe with theCovenant offering to the Quarians to join the Fringe or maybe with Sesa Rufamee Heretics getting in contact with the Citadel?)

Appologies for the late reply, we're in the middle of a soft reboot at the moment but this piece will stay as it is.
Further information about the Covenants and Citadel's interactions can be found here
In short though, the Quarian Migrant Fleet is hated by the Covenant for unleashing the Geth and I never thought about Sesa Refamee's Heretics, that is a good idea though...

Wrex wasn't born yesterday, he comes across as a very level headed intelligent character who's loyal to friends, so I tried really hard to portray him as that glad you liked it

That was pretty damn cool. Any opportunity for a Krogan to be awesome must be taken, especially Wrex.

Glad you liked it! I actually RP'd this scene with the OC's creator, me being Wrex and him being Oro. Of course I had to clean it up to post it here and shorten it as well as change a few things, in the other version the Prophet had more guards and ordered them to attack whilst he fled.

That part we did for fun and research for Krogan vs Covenant, but obviously wasn’t going to be added.
