Description Logger's Bane
First Appearance:
Kladderadatsch (1930)

Origin
(---"
What could only be described as a massive, multi-wheeled, fire-breathing, wooden serpent, The Logger's Bane is fortunately a singular creature that appears very infrequently within The Forest of the Austro . Once in a blue moon, the wooden serpent may travel close to different settlements within and just outside of the forest like The Ever-Changing City , which causes alarms to be raised as the different defense forces within each settlement will try and divert it away from their homes.

It is unclear if the serpent is a living creature, a mechanical one, or a mix of both due to it's appearance and biology raising many questions about how it functions. This mystery has prompted hunters to try and capture the beast so that it can be studied and chop it up for crafting materials afterwards since the properties of it's wooden flesh seem similar to dragon scales in their durability.

Though despite it's infrequent appearances, it is rather easy to track the beast after it appears near a settlement as it leaves a winding path in it's wake from breaking down the trees in front of it. And according to recon reports from Hunters that followed the creature, it usually stays within a part of the forest that has trees that are not only a bit more massive then California Redwoods, but the wood seemed to have properties similar to The Bane itself in that they're very durable against bladed weapons and are surprisingly fireproof, as they were seen with scorch marks on the bark, but they were very easy to brush off like one brushes away simple ash and no signs of damage could be seen.

Those who have traveled within this part of the forest and followed the serpent reported how the creature actually does slither up and climb up these trees after returning from it's travels and into the canopy out of sight. Though currently Hunters don't have the proper equipment to climb up the massive trees effectively to see what The Bane does in what could only be theorized as it's lair."---)

Liked the Spotted Aokiba before, here's another creature who first appeared as a political cartoon in an old German magazine. If I were to compare The Logger's Bane to another creature, I'd say that The Bane is Sargasso's Dalamadur from Monster Hunter 4, but a bit smaller and without most of the powers except the fire breath.

The Logger's Bane is an open source concept created specifically for use by anyone. Feel free to use it any way you wish. You must also give creator credit.

Also, The image above is actually Public Domain, as it first appeared in an issue of Kladderadatsch in 1930.
