Origin
(---"There are many different locations dotting the continent of Decemilla that were formerly abandoned. Factories, warehouses, big box stores, mansions and even ghost towns can be found and, if enough people work on it, renovate these locations so as to make them livable and to make sure that those locations won't collapse from a crumbling foundation.
However, plenty of these locations have remained abandoned for another reason. They are home to all manners of wildlife and vicious mutant fauna that are extremely dangerous to the average urban explorer. And the apex predators that can be found in some of these locations are the creatures called Snagglefanged Urb-Rexs. Worm-like mutants that are around 25 ft long and known for their massive teeth & claws that can pierce steel, and jaws that can swallow a human whole like a python.
Another feature of these creatures is their ability to alter the color of their bodies to blend in to their surroundings, allowing them to sneak up on their victims before they bite down on them. And while they mostly use their teeth as their main weapon, their front legs are also viable weapons along with them and their legs able to climb up walls and on ceilings.
Another of the creatures' abilities is their ability to vomit up a wad of organic matter at their prey. Studies on this matter reveal that it is made up of the proteins, hair, fingernails & fragmented bones from it's prey that had been previously digested, storing it in a sack connected to it's stomach which it then uses to attack prey at a distance as a form of biological warfare if their prey is out of reach. This wad of matter is actually toxic and can poison those who come in contact with it, weakening them more then long enough for an Urb-Rex to catch up and devour them. Some trinkets have been found within this mass of gore, possibly from the victim having it on their person as they were being devoured.
While Urb-Rexs are mostly solitary predators, during their mating season people have seen up to ten Urb-Rexs in a single pack, with the males fighting and devouring the losers and mating with the females of the species. Then after the females are bred with, those females evacuate from the pack and spread out to another location, preferably one that has plenty of food for them and their spawn to consume. And each female lays up to 30 eggs in a single nest, however during this time a female may become hungry and actually snack on some of them so this number is reduced to around nine or ten at the time the eggs were suppose to hatch. Then when the spawn hatches from their eggs, their first instinct is to feed on the closest source of meat, which 98% of the time is each other unless the mother brings the hatchlings some meat before they fully hatch. Though when a slab of raw meat isn't provided in time, the hatchlings will turn on one another and fight each other until only one Urb-Rex spawn is left, devouring the others.
Those who are accomplished hunters find Urb-Rexs' to be a worthy trophy, so a hunting party of around 8 men are sent into locations where an Urb-Rex is known to live in, setting up traps so as to catch one. They aren't hunted for their meat as their meat is incredibly toxic to humans and other predators, so the parts that are harvested from a recently slain Urb-Rex is their bones, skin & teeth, which are incredibly durable with the skin being used for leather armor when properly tanned."---)
