*Please note that the emote must be 50 pixels in its largest dimension to show up in the "add media" section of DA.
*Another note they may take a while to show up in the "add media" section, depending on how fast DA is moving.
*heads up if you make a community emote you will automaticly recive notifications every time that your emote is used, you can disable this feature.
- Mentions notifications can be enabled or disabled from the Settings page .
- Mentions notifications can be disabled for individual deviations. To do so, click the arrow button that appears on the top right corner of a Mentions notification for the deviation you want disabled. From there, select "Ignore future mentions of...", and Mentions will be disabled for that deviation.

If you are referring to this emote it already exists. All you have to do is type jotaro in the +Add Media section when making a comment

Despite the fact that you are trying to submit it as 50x50 it is actually 100x100 pixels, 50x50 is the largest they allow in the +Add Media.

I have made plenty of icons as commissions for people, I only hashtag their user name and somehow people find them and use them all the time. It is kinda cool you get an alert every time someone uses it.

Yeah for example under your notifications page at the bottom you will see a section that says mentions, that will be where someone either used your username in a tag or uses one of your deviations in a comment or journal.

If this is the one that you are trying to submit there is a limit on size for gifs submitted into the +add Media portion. They can be no larger than 50x50 pixels, yours is clearly 100x100 pixels.

This one is in the +media and is searchable with all of your #s
this one is 68x68 pixels and the max size in the +media is 50x50
this one is again 68x68
This one can be found under add media under your username Azagwen , if you would like for it to be searchable by other words you need to add them as a # under the add tags section while submitting your deviation.

you should be able to submit a png however if you want to make it an icon it must be 50x50 pixels no larger or smaller. Also you need permission to do so by the plz account as well.

there are several gimp specific groups that have tutorials

None of the groups are truly active but they have tutorials and still allow submissions. There is also gimp.org (the only site I would download it from, others like to add viruses and .org is the real site for it) there are a ton of videos and such for you to watch on the site.
