*Please note that the emote must be 50 pixels in its largest dimension to show up in the "add media" section of DA.
*Another note they may take a while to show up in the "add media" section, depending on how fast DA is moving.
*heads up if you make a community emote you will automaticly recive notifications every time that your emote is used, you can disable this feature.
- Mentions notifications can be enabled or disabled from the Settings page .
- Mentions notifications can be disabled for individual deviations. To do so, click the arrow button that appears on the top right corner of a Mentions notification for the deviation you want disabled. From there, select "Ignore future mentions of...", and Mentions will be disabled for that deviation.

Hello there, I uploaded at least 9 emoticons, 6 of them have been uploaded but the other 3 are still taking a while :/ I'm not sure which to do, either reupload them or just wait it out till they get uploaded on the community emoticons?

The others won't show up. I looked at your page... really great emotes by the way... but if you notice the ones that didn't show have actual demintions over 50 pixels. They only allow up to 50 but not over for it to show up in the add media section. Hope that helps.

It all makes sense now, maybe in the future the ones that can't fit I might resize them, but that helped me, thanks for that.

Thank you for your tutorial, i made my first community emoticon!
But... I just received a notification "X mentioned your deviation" because someone used it in a comment. I don't want to be notified everytime someone use it, do you know if it's possible to deactivate this kind of notification for the emoticons?

I know that it is possible to turn them off, but it may turn off all of the notifications. I will have to look into it for you

Mentions are a new, highly requested feature that makes engaging friends and artists in conversation more dynamic than ever before.
What is a Mention?
A Mention is when a deviant’s username, icon, or artwork is included in a comment or Journal. Mentions create links to the deviants or artwork you include, allowing you to highlight artists and engage deviants with ease.
Links to pages on deviantART can quickly be distinguished by their bold, dark-blue color, while external links are darker and have an arrow indicating you are leaving deviantART.
Deviants you mention are notified in the new Mentions section of the Message Center, making engaging and involving others in conversation a simple, hassle-free experience.
How to Mention

It depends on how fast da is moving sometimes it is almost instant and others it can take several minutes.
You can create your emotes with any app or platform and go about submitting it to da in the same manor.

Ahh it says "this file type is not allowed" in both the animated and the static categories!!! I tried it as a jpg, a gif, and a png!!! Help please!

Sometimes when you change the file type the deviation just gets a little screwy. If I were you I would start fresh with a new deviation. It could also be too large of a file as well.

Perhaps if you just save it as a normal pixel art under digital art category it may allow it, however you would not be able to access it in the add media menu.

Thank you on the tutorial. Maybe this will help me figure out what I am doing wrong on GIMPshop on making GIF images. It never seems to work for me. :/

The biggest thing with Gimp is in how you save it. First know you have to create in layers and it will animate from the bottom up. Then you cannot save the file you must use the option to export as... There it will give you the option to save it as a .gif file.
