Description
The current AA costume works great for 3D comics, but there are many reasons why it might not work at all if we try to put it on a real woman... so I've been tinkering around with a few costume concepts that might provide a more practical approach for AA's first live-action adventure in The Panopticon. If you've been following the adventures of AA for awhile, you already know that I change her costume and look quite a bit. Also dozens of DA artists have created their own versions of AA, and I love each and every one of them. Here are the things that I personally think are the essential elements of her design:
1) Sexy brunette
2) Silver bow and arrows
3) Silver bracers
4) Red and/or black outfit
I didn't include the tiara in the list because I don't really think it's absolutely necessary (in my opinion). There are a couple of designs above without tiaras and they still look like AA to me. As for the style of the outfit... again, I'm really not all that picky about it. I think you can push the design pretty far and still end up with something that looks like AA to me.
So... what do YOU think?
Which of the above is your favorite?
Are there any that you really, really like?
Are there any that you really can't stand?
I'd love to hear your thoughts!
and I are currently working out some of the practical concerns for the AA/FearGirl crossover film that we hope to launch via IndieGoGo relatively soon.
Keep watching for links and details!

Is it bad of me to just realise that AA reminds of Rachel Nichols as Kiera Cameron..... Or is that just me?

Number 5 would be my top pick great with some high boots and number 9 would be great as an alternative look ala Wonder Woman

These all are gorgeous!!! From a pure look stand point, top row 2nd from the left!!!! HOT!!!!!!!!!!!!! From a practical standpoint, top row last one on the right. Functional but practical.

1 is the sexiest but I like heroines in leotards [] so 9 is my first choice followed by 6. I especially like 9 because it make's you look strong and powerful
and with the application of Kevlar like materials it would provide more ballistic protection.

I like the top-right costume. You mind if I wear a matching bikini if we go out on patrol together? Got to show some skin as a self-respecting heroine. lol

I think all ten outfits represent an entire wall of sexy! I don't have a favourite design. I do hope you stick with what's been working. Part of building a brand more than anything else.
If I had to play favourites for which images I like the best here, I'd say the ones with visible nipples. I think there's at least four pairs that I can notice really well.

While I naturally like #2 as the one that shows the most skin, from a practical matter I think #9, assuming it can be made of material that wouldn't get too warm for the actress. I think #1 is the closest to the "classic" AA look, but I'd have the same concerns with #2 of, ehm, keeping everything in place while in movement.

These are some really great outfits! I think I would go for number 4, number 8 and number 10, but the one I like the most is number 9! It looks both practical and sexy, and that zipper just asks to be lowered!

Numbering 1 to 10 as top left to right then bottom left to right:-
1 and 2 have the already expressed concerns about fallout, even with Hollywood Tape!
I rather like 3, and there's plenty of ways to jazz it up with some blue and/or some white stars, and it will hide a support bra nicely, particularly with that extra button done up.
I'm going to dismiss 4 and 10 because I don't like my Amazons in mini minis.
Made right, 5 is actually secure (see discussion elsewhere about Caroline Munro, and it occurs to me that Raquel Welch, Angelina Jolie and Halle Berry have all done action scenes in bikinis not unlike this too.
6 is unusual with the big keyhole. It should stay put though.
7 is a variation on the "classic bustier", and actually makes AA look more like Curia or Diana Prince than like herself, even with the bow etc.
8 and 9 look more like playsuits than something AA would wear for action.
tl;dr - I think 3, 5 or 6.

I'm probably going to repeat the sentiments expressed by the other posters, but maybe great minds think alike.
1) The classic costume. Although it may not be practical in real life, it looks better than most of the others because it has the little details that make it look complete.
2) Looks too much like a bikini. If the classic costume is impractical, this on is even more so.
3) Looks too much like business wear. Maybe if this was the clothing for her secret identity, it would work, but it just doesn't look much like a superheroine.
4) Too athletic. It may be practical because it's designed to move, but it's obviously a sports bra and that's distracting.
5) This one has possibilities. Although it's swimwear, the thicker straps make it look more practical. With the proper accessories, it could be a real winner.
6) It might work, but it doesn't really appeal to me that much. Maybe if the neckline was lower.
7) Hey, it worked for Lynda Carter, so why not.
8) Another one with possibilities, but I think it needs a pop of color. The all black looks is a bit too ninja-ish.
9) Even though I'm a fan of lots of skin showing, I like this one. It has enough details in the suit to keep it visually interesting and it looks like it would be practical in real life.
10) Again, needs more color. The top might looks better with a bikini bottom or boy shorts. I'm not a big fan of the skirt.
My favorites are (in no particular order): 1, 5 and 9.

I like the upper 2 on the right and lower 2 on the left. Just a tweak: The 2nd from the left on the lower level, maybe change the bottoms to black hot pants? Maybe with the silver star in the center (or one on each hip)? And I would add the tiara. Just a note on the tiara: Not only do I like the look, but I also think it makes perfect sense for the character. It serves as a way to keep AA's hair out of her face/eyes; which would be important to an archer.

I like "the idea" of a tiara, but I have yet to see one in an independent film that doesn't look corny. They need to be custom molded and designed to the scale of the actress's forehead to really work and I'm not sure we can pull that off with a limited budget. Thanks for your comments!

I see what you're saying. That being the case, let me offer another possibility: a silver headband with the red star on the forehead. Keeps the same "lines" for the costume, but should be easier to pull off. And for "practical" purposes, it would serve the same purpose as the headband.

Using the same numbering as the previous comment, #1, 2, 5 and 6 looks like something that would be fallen out of in combat. Probably 10 as well. Not a big skirt fan, either. I know I'm probably in the minority (among men, anyway) because of the lack of cleavage, but I like 6 and 9. Both just make her look somehow more imposing, like she's hot and all, but still isn't someone to be trifled with. The skirts and bathing suits just don't give that impression, in my opinion. You could always zip down the front of #9 if you want to show off, I suppose. If you're in the mood for alterations, try making #9 sleeveless but with the same gloves as #7, 8 or 10 (or quite possibly make the gloves the same style/pattern as the boots).

L-R, top to bottom:
1 - The classic. Totally impractical but undeniably sexy.
2 - Beachwear. Equally impractical for crime-fighting, but not for a dip in the surf.
3 - Business attire. If Ms. Kent trades librarianship for the corporate boardroom she could just shrug off her business jacket and fight in this. It may be the most practical but also is the least revealing.
4 - Gym outfit. Looks like what AA would wear for a training workout rather than out in the field.
5 - Aaaaaand we're back on the beach. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
6 - Interesting. I'm reminding of this: nebezial.deviantart.com/art/no…
7 - The WW bustier. Also impractical. Also sexy.
8 - A Black Widow look, with even MORE cleavage. Throw some fire engine red in there, would ya, Jarvis?
9 - Not too revealing, but still hot. I'm mentally reaching out for that zipper...
10 - Like #8, needs some red.
Of all of them I think #9 would work best in the real world: practical, but still sexy and suggestive.

Expanding on my earlier point, I think the bottom right with a tweaked colour scheme would probably work best. Needs a splash of vivid red! Black looks awesome, but a fully black outfit just doesn't feel particularly AA.
Not too sure about the little skirt, I quite like the leggings in the upper-center one. Those mixed with the high red boots of the second-last one on the bottom row, maybe?

Let's say top left corner is '1', the one to the right of it is 2, and so on...
1 is the best, obviously
2 is a bit bare bones imo. 3 a bit too casual. 4 I don't like the short, or top, not very heroine-like.
5 is pretty good.
6 looks a bit weird.
7 is very cute
8 is the most badass of them all!
9 is pretty amazing and looks like the most practical of all the outfits.
10 is probably my 2nd favourite. Looks pretty realistic, while retaining that heroine feel.
