I have to agree, i'm the type of guy who never judges a book by it's cover (without clear observation first)
I saw the concept sketch and thought "Hey, it's a sketch, so obviously it's not final"
After thinking about it, i was beginning to think the same thing that i did when i first watched my first episode "Luna Eclipsed"
"Nah, this can't be as bad as they say it is"
Then i watched the trailer
"AJ may be my favorite pony...but twilight is absolutely adorable!"

They say appearances can be deceptive, and I learned that lesson the hard way. Any critical views against EQG right now is purely superficial conjecture, with no real examples from the movie to back it up. And if people are going to point to a one minute trailer as "proof", I'd like to point out how trailers can be poor examples of a movie's focus or content: [link] (and don't get me started on those lame spots where they edit in belches and other sound effects to grab children's attention.)
I've trusted DHX thus far, and they've done alright by me with pony. I can give them the benefit of the doubt.
