Description
Was doing another fan sketch, and a crossover happened! Namely, between the Cars/Planes 'verse and Roger Zelazny's Amber multi-verse, and a whole new fan theory about the origins of the Carsverse! Centuries ago, Princess Sand, daughter of King Oberon, disappeared from the courts of Amber, some say in disgust at the dysfunctional, treacherous mess it had become. Some say she's dead, others that she retreated to a shadow of her own making, becoming a recluse. The truth may be much bigger than that. Perhaps she located a broken Pattern, and used that as the basis for another universe, but cemented and protected it by sacrificing her own being to it, essentially becoming that place. She started it on "fast time", but rigged it to gradually slow down so that it would eventually be in sync with "Shadow Earth". That way, it would have a full history and evolutionary process. She set it to parallel Earth in many ways, but with a crucial difference. She now "lives" as this universe, and everyone in it is at once a child/creation/splinter of her, even the not-so-good people, for what personality is without its shadow side? Most, however, are oblivious to the true nature of this creative force, though they might refer to it by various names, "The Manufacturer" being one.But. occasionally, the memory of Sand as she was appears to certain individuals, in dreams they don't consciously remember, but which are like sharp spurs in their sides, driving them to be more than what the matter of their bodies was formed to be.

Who wouldn't be afraid if they realized that they were staring at the God/originator/life force of their universe and finding out that it's nothing like they expected?

Poor Dusty
Well i have to agree with that. Maybe what would we expect are lights and some 'hard-to-explain' stuff, but it turned out to be God in Disguise. Good god.

Ah, Amber... It's been too long. Where were the Game of Thrones people when Zelazny was doing it so very well?
'Roadmarks' might have potential, also. Nice image and thoughts.

The court of Amber could have shown the Lannisters a thing or two about intra-family skullduggery, heh.
Sand is essentially the one doing a macro version of Elsa's "Let it Go" routine, except her song is "F*** it all" and when she slams her foot down on that exploitable fault in the Pattern, she BECOMES the "castle" and everything that dwells in it.

Oberon's character fascinated me. When Zelazny dreamed, he dreamed BIG.
