HOORAY for SWOOSHY hair!
ALSO from a Slayers rpg with . Lonnnng story short, Xelloss, Zelgadiss, Amelia, Rezo, and Phibrizzo go against Zelas, who has played Xelloss into helping resurrect a defective Zanaffar, in order to one-up Phibrizzo in Shabranigdo's favor. Rezo ends up being the one who has to pull a Blessed Blade out of his gut (ew) and hurl it successfully at the Zanaffar. At which point Xelloss unseals the thing's block to the astral side, lures it into an astral pocket, and destroys it.
Afterward Rezo, badly wounded, is held by Zelgadiss. The two arrive at a detente as Amelia casts Recoveries on Rezo, and Rezo secretly wishes for reconciliation with these "kind people."
I think this may be the first time I've ever drawn Amelia. o.O; No wait, second. First was a ZelAme shipping pic.

Oh gosh I love this, I rewatched slayers and now I'm super obsessed with Rezo again ^^` I really wished he got some kind of redemption....eris and copy rezo aswell, I feel so sad for them c'': kinda sad that there isn't more rezo fanartΒ

Omg so I just rewatched the episodes between where Shabby is reborn and is killed by Rezo and Lina, and I was BAWLING. I remember the first time I ever watched the series was season 1 and I bawled then too lol. MY GOD. REZO ;; ;; I feel SUCH INTENSE PITY for him. I mean I already did but it was PAINFUL watching him transform writhing and screaming. ;;; ;;;

I sympatize with you. Last week I was watching those very episodes for some inspiration for some Rezo artwork and I was bawling my eyes out too. He is indeed an example of a tragic character. It's just not fair that he had to go through all that. The worst part, people look at it as if nothing catostrophically happened! They envision Rezo as this psychopathic person. Yet, if you really look at the big picture, he wasn't evil. He was a kind soul, full of heart and dedication to the common good.
Not to mention, my favorite Slayers character was killed. Then again, Eris was a tie with Rezo! LOL! And she had to die too! Of course, I was bawling when she died too. Another tragic character in the ranks of heaven.

See I don't even listen to people who think this way because their views aren't even canonical. In both the novels and a LONG monologue in season one, Lina goes on about how Rezo was "the real prisoner" and Shabranigdo controlling all his actions from Zegladiss's transformation on. She adds just such words about him, regarding his kindness and charity. Furthermore these people have never themselves had to deal with the isolating and perpetually traumatizing nature of a chronic illness for which there is no cure. But I know. I'm a type I diabetic and I've been to the hospital ER literally on the brink of death more times than I can count. It takes almost impossible levels of spiritual strength and faith to endure that constant war zone within your own body, to ever feel safe or connected to others.
LOL sorry, can you tell I feel passionately about this? 
Unfortunately what is adding to seeing Rezo as one-dimensional is the overly simplistic script in Revolution and Evolution-R. So far he is remembered by Lina and Zelgadiss as a total hypocrite doing evil of his own volition wholly. This annoys me to death because in season 1 Lina says that without Rezo's soul helping her, Shabranigdo would have destroyed the world. So what happened between then, when Lina saw him as a hero, and now? It's just inconsistent, shitty writing.
I am seriously trying to find the time to work on a Rezo fanfiction. Three chapters are up at fanfic.net, and I have SO many ideas for it, but I am so busy with graduate school right now lol ;; ;;

OMG! I just read your fanfic yesterday! It's absolutely amazing! The tension between Zelgadis and Rezo just took my breath away! I would have commentd on fanfiction.net, but alas, I don't have an account there! Oh, I understand with your writing issue. I'm having the same problem with mine. I've had finals all last week and no time for anything too terribly significant in writing. But I shall work on it this coming week!

Thank you so much for the compliments. Lol that's just the tip of the iceberg between them. The fic is fairly centric on how their relationship deteriorated then a plausible way to build it back up. I can't wait to have time to work on it.
Something I noticed yesterday that I forgot to mention...I think it's really interesting that Zelgadiss shouting Rezo's name was what started awakening Rezo's soul inside Shabranigdo, causing Shabranigdo to hesitate long enough to be slain. To me that proves his love for his great-grandson, finally being exhumed from layers of contamination by Shabranigdo.
Anyway would love to read your fic when you add to the chapters already up.

Rezo became a favorite of mine, I've forgotten why. I think it was ready a Slayers fanfiction where Rezo and Koppi Rezo were in hell, Koppi draws a line on the ground to divide sides. this was their argument:
Rezo points at the line and argues, "That's not even an equal half you gave us!"
Kopii sticks his tongue out and taunts, "Nyaah-nyahh! The line's already drawn, and you can't do any better!"
Rezo stomps a foot and shouts, "FINE! You just stay on your Loser side, and OUR side will be the FUN side of Hell!"
Eris lifts a finger to object, "um... Lord Rezo..." she is thoroughly ignored, however.
Kopii shouts, "Nuh-uh! THIS is the FUN side! Yours is the Loser side!"
Rezo does a dance, "You can keep your side! This side's FUN! See? Wheee! I'm having so much FUN!"
