Drawing a wild Mudbug, coloring with watercolor, acyrilics and color pencils on paper.
Procambarus clarkii is a species of cambarid freshwater crayfish, native to northern Mexico, and southern and southeastern United States, but also introduced elsewhere (both in North America and other continents), where it is often an invasive pest. It is known variously as the red swamp crawfish, red swamp crayfish, Louisiana crawfish, Louisiana crayfish or mudbug.

Very cool believe it or not my kids brought them home from elementary and I fail in love with them. Their names were Bucky and Bucky2. lol Great work!

Thank you! I start with a quick layer of acrylic for bigger areas, then watercolors and small details with color pencil.
I'm not sure if you can eat them but I read that they can be a vector of viruses. In Spain they are displacing the local ones and it's forbidden its possession, tranportation, traffic and commerce. They are agressive.

I didn't know watercolor could stay on top of acrylic paint. I never tried myself, but my acrylic paint has a kind of "plastic" texture after drying so I didn't even think watercolor could be used after.
What is your experience ? Is this easy to put watercolor after acrylics ? (at least the acrylics you use)

I'm testing using a watered thin layer of acrylic so it's almost like watercolor only mixing the 3 primary colors, then watercolor and acrylic with more intense color. Hope that helps.
