Description
Still haven't quite managed to finish this, but since the missing information is already on two other pages, I figure I'll upload this to let people see the new borders. So here it is, the long-awaited update to my previous map ( [link] )! Right, so this one includes information on South America and Africa, as taken from Crucible of Gold (and Larrakia from Tongues of Serpents!). Since there are too many changes in Europe to show on one map, instead Europe is how it appeared in 1805 (for other times, see my Napoleonic Wars Map; [link] ).
We still don't have an exact border for the Tswana Kingdom, but the map at the beginning of Crucible of Gold says Luanda is under their control (although later on it simply says it's a ruin) so I put the border to there - and used information from this earlier map ( [link] ); where I tried to figure out where the Sotho and Tswana were located in Africa, and draw the border around that.
Temeraire Copyright Naomi Novik
Picture credits same as on the last images - plus the Incan Empire border based off the map in Crucible of Gold.

I think this map might be of better quality than the one you have [link] (I might be wrong)

It's very pretty, but it's in the wrong projection (mine's Equirectangular, theirs is Robinson), so I'd have to distort the borders and that'd take a fair bit of time. Plus I don't have the software (yet) to make it look good.

Hey, I havenΒ΄t read CoG yet, and itΒ΄s not going to happen in the next few months (until the Dutch translation has been published), so could anyone who has read it give me some very indirect plot hints? With the Inheritance series I've always enjoyed those, trying to figure them out and being driven to insanity

Hmm...how much information is too much? I suppose I can say they end up travelling to South America...oh, and we see the state of relationships for several characters (I've phrased that terribly, I just can't think of a good way to describe things!).

Will Iskierka be in the book?
Oh, and just about any random prediction about a random fact is okay. Something like: Temeraire will learn to play the piano. (not sure where they can find a piano big enough, but then I can think about it.)
But thanks anyway. Those relationships hint was good also, now I can't stop wondering if it's about Laurence/Jane Roland, or Temeraire/Iskierka, or Temeraire/Mei, or Harcourt/Riley. (don't tell me which of those it will be!)
I'm already seriously considering buying the book in English, but then all breed names will be different.

Yes, Iskierka's arguably one of the main characters.
As for more plot details...well, it's pretty vague, but several characters not seen/mentioned for a while return to the series...I think that's probably all I can tell you - just went over the synopsis I wrote for the Temeraire wiki and that was all that stood out without being really spoilery.

Okay, thanks a lot. I'm sure one of that returning characters is Hammond, because he was in the chapter Novik published earlier.
And one more question: do you think this book is the best of the series so far, or the second-best, or somewhere in the middle, or not good at all?

It's been a while since I read it, but...from memory, it's not my favourite of the books, but still pretty good (and way better than Tongues of Serpents or Black Powder War).

All that's missing is the color key and compass in the lower right. Nice job.
