I use to just use iaza to make the background of the frames transparent, but you can also use photo editing services. Depends on what you feel more comfortable using c:

Mostly the movement of the sprites; like where the movement occurs in the sprite. I noticed that it seems like there is a bouncing movement when it is animated. Mine doesn't seem -- uh -- natural.

well from what i can see, your trainer is one pixel shorter in one of the walking positions then it is in the other. to make it look more natural, i'd suggest increasing the height of the character by 1 in that shorter walking frame, to get a bigger bouncing effect. c:
also, in the standing position frame, i'd move the entire dewgong sprite up by one pixel as well. also to get a larger bouncing effect~

I'm not sure if I ever actually commented on this tutorial. It got me started with overworlds and though I've changed techniques since then, I must thank you for the help getting me started.

Omg! This tutorial helped me lots!!! Thank you for doing it! Here is how mine turned out [link] It's not perfect and I couldn't make it transparent for some reason. I used gimp for the animation instead of an online website, it still worked though.

I have a question though. During parts of the walk cycle I can see the stand cycle quick. Is this caused by the animation being too fast?

ummm, I think what you're asking is normal! as per every type of animation, you're going to see the in between stages for a brief moment c:
