THIS IS WHY JACK IS MY GO-TO GAL, GODDAMMIT.I didn't have Miranda's loyalty the first play-through, but wasn't about to let her incompetence get Garrus killed, so I reloaded the second I got the chance.
But for my latest Shep I decided to give her another shot, since I was able to break up the fight btw her and Jack (with the renegade option).
She still failed D: WTF MIRANDA.
This time I just continued on, though. It sucked, but I figured fuck it.

I know Jack and Samara are the ones to bring.
The first incident happened the very first time I played, and didn't know. The second time happened on my 5th Shep, to try someone other than Jack or Samara.
Clearly, I learned my lesson. >.> Back to the fire team with you, Miranda, you butthead.

I posted this (and the above edit) a few years ago and I still get people popping by every so often and telling me how to survive the suicide mission. wat

I was about to post what's the what but then i checked the edits. So suffice it to say i feel your pain. I had Zaeed as the fireteam leader for the first part and he got the specialist killed.

Did you give her the upgrade she asks for? XD; That's the only thing besides loyalty that makes her strong enough for the swarms.

When she made the "control-ship" comment I wanted to punch her in the ovaries. Those feelings resurfaced again during the pre-suicide mission meeting when she declares that she'll lead the second squad... and whenever she jabbers on about being second in command on the Normandy.

They're not full biotics like Samara and Jack; they're not nearly strong enough. I tend to forget Thane even has biotics.
Samara's an asari; she's born with it, and is old enough to be incredibly powerful. Jack is already really powerful for a human, with her conditioning/"training" on top of that, and when you give her her upgrade, it makes her even more so.
The others just have normal biotic implants, same as Miranda. Any of them will fail in the Long Walk.

hahahahaha i chose miranda on my 3rd playthrough and mordin got killed and i was like "NO WTF!!!!! didnt you say any biotic could do it you stupid B***?!?!?" i just wanted to try someone besides samara which i had used on my other 2 playthroughs but clearly Miranda is'nt the best choice <_<

I knew Miranda was being too smug, saying any biotic can do it. I knew that she was subpar at best, best in Cerberus(well, she quit if you blow the base up), but compared to Samara, Jack, and Shepard, she is the weakest(2nd weakest if you are including the team of ME2).
Besides, she lives as FTL2 even if she is unloyal(plot armor).
