Sorry lad but even if you equipped Yamato with some Gatling Guns, the United States Navy planes that were coming would still overwhelm the anti-air defense of the Yamato. Sure more planes would go down but the Yamato would have still been destroyed. Furthermore, those Gatling guns need to be aimed and given how Japanese had appalling radar and radar aimed guns were basically a technology they can only dream off which mean those Gatling Guns need to aimed manually and that limits their capabilities.
