An impossible scene, I know, but something I would have loved to have seen in Episode III. I drew this on the back of a café log paper at work on Thursday, but was unable to scan it and colour it until now because my scanner was being weird. The quote at the top is from the last page of the Revenge of the Sith novel. I applied random brushes to create a psuedo-background cause I'm too lazy to do a real one. The colouring could have been better, but again, I am lazy.Um, I don't have anything else to say about this really except that I love Vader and that at the time of typing, I have seen ROTS four times. Yay. Oh, and it annoys that the title thingy won't let me put Padmé; apparently special characters aren't allowed. Also, Vader hearts Padmé and you know it. :b

Anakin IS Vader and Vader still loves Padmé, deep down. His guilt is part of why he stayed on the dark path. He couldn't live with himself, not the same way. He hates himself. And that hatred is the source of his power. He hates what he has done, what he has become. Vader didn't kill her, she was alive to have the twins. She died of a broken heart. It happened differently than we imagined, but she still died of the same thing we've been told in books for years. The cause is the same.

That's a good point. Hatred is supposed to be a path to the dark side and that probably includes self-hatred. From basically the beginning of the second movie it was obvious he hated himself with all the horrible things he said about himself. It was so painful to watch because I've struggled with self-esteem issues my whole life. It's even sadder that he probably had some sort of mental illness and couldn't get any help.

I love the look on Padme's face and how you have her touching Vader's mask. I love that Vader's hand is on her expanded belly. It's the only Skywalker family portrait I've seen so far. Very well done.

Nice! I realy like this drawing! A very pleasant style and great flow of the clothing to. There's something of about Padmé's right arm though. That aside, it's a great piece
