Description
Two of the species from:[link]
I really just wanted to do a picture of one or two of the alien beasties in their natural setting - amongst fields of mould on the sea floor.
The first is an active predator. It uses its back and underside flaps not only for protection, but for movement. The underside flaps allow for crude walking, but it can also flap both top and bottom to pump water towards its rear. The momentary increase in water pressure behind it propels it forward.
Its not very fast but neither is its prey. Its small prey normally hides amongst the mould, but they're not too smart, and become exposed from time to time leaving them open to attack. Its skin secretes a slime that is supposed to protect it from its attacker's digestive juices, but the predator's 'teeth' (sharp growths around the mouth that move food backwards into the mouth) have cut this poor worm's skin open and the digestive juice has begun to dissolve its insides.

This is neat, but it looks kind of unfinished compared to the other art I see in your gallery. It's good to see you using the creatures together in a scene, though.

Haha, I guess that was my mistake of trying to use a mouse to draw on photoshop. I royally suck at it, to be honest, and never seem to know how to make it look finished. I actually tweaked this a lot before declaring it finished, but it was reluctant. I had gone full circle and any more tweaking made it look worse.
