I decided on the cat-eye thing to give a slight feminine look to him. I figured since there are no female Namekians, its safe to not make him overly masculine. Just so there is greater contrast between him and Goku.Β

That makes the cat-eye thing EVEN BETTER. I never thought of it in that way... But I totally see it! That's awesome...

Also, not very visible till he removes the cape, he has a leaner build compared to Goku.

That reminds me whenever I see Piccolo a little too buffed in the anime (best example would be when he was displaying his power to I think 17 before fighting in Android Saga) it looked not only weird, but wrong. It's cumbersome looking and out of place. Having Piccolo with some feminine touches make sense.
