'Prometheus"Pyroraptor olympius. A digital painting of a Pyroraptor getting ready to start a forest fire.
A little play on mythology and paleoart after I learnt the full scientific name of this dromaeosaur. This is the last piece of artwork I worked on at my university before graduation last week. I wanted to do a play on its name and remembered an article on certain modern birds of prey helping spread wildfires in order to scavenge on the burnt carcasses.
Completed on the 3rd of June 2016.
Done using Photoshop CC, Corel Painter and pencils.

I've been thinking about making a character based off of this dinosaur and the myth. I love how it looks here - very mysterious, but the colors blend nicely.
