“The Couple That Hunts Together Slays Together”
Qianzhousaurus sinensis, Nanshiungosaurus brevispinus. An acrylic painting of a hunting pair of Qianzhousaurus trying to take down a young Nanshiungosaurus. We can see the maned male Qianzhousaurus in the mid-ground while the female bursts forth from the foreground, closing in fast on the little therizinosaurid.
Directly inspired by the Qianzhousaurus hunting scene from Prehistoric Planet, I started the initial pencil work during the day of my graduation of my Psychiatric Technician program in June, while I finished painting it the week of my wedding in December.
Completed in early December 2022.
Done using acrylics, color pencils and Photoshop 2021.
