Here's a link to a head study of the animal:

This was done eight years ago, submitted six years ago.
It's old and full of inaccuracies. Inaccuracies that have been learnt from.
This is a more recent one. amorousdino.deviantart.com/art...

Its like a Baby T-rex! Most of scientist say, that just the joung animals had feathers. But its an intresting idea, that T-rexes, who lived in Alaska, or other cold places, had feather to keep themselves worm! In any case I like your Drawing, Mainly hes stripes on hes tail, Such an AWESOME pattern!

That is really well done, I love the feather touches you've put on it, and it's colours remind me of the t-rex in Walking with Dinosaurs.

I think that the only thing that bugs me about this magnificent tyrannosaur is that it's a LITTLE too skinny..
Still, very awesome :3

Very nice. I like how he (or she?) looks so graceful, and yet very powerful. I like the stripes on the tail, too. I think the WWD T.rex looks even better with the quills on the head and arms.

Great pencil work you have here
The only things at fault here is that you didn't cleanup the scan: I can still see the scanner bed at the bottom and the whole image could use more contrast. You can use [link] or [link] for that in case you don't have Photoshop or Paintshop Pro.
Another thing is the anatomy: the head looks a little too much like the WWD T. rex, i. e., a tad short and with an uneven snout. Tyrannosaurus sure didn't have that trim waste line and the pubic boot could be a bit more apparent. Last but not least theropod hand palms face each other at all times. A more up to date reference: [link]
I hope you don't mind this in-depth critique to an admitedly old drawing but you did ask for a comment

Didn't notice the palm thing. But have I to say, I love the WWD Tyrannosaur reconstruction. Its my favorite so far. I couldn't help it with the trim waist, makes it look more graceful. This was my first scan too and I don't own a photo-editing program or scanner. I have to go to a store to scan my stuff.
Most of all, thanks for the critique. Learnt a lot.

Interesting choice with the feather-like projections on the head, though not surprising in the least. The detail, both on the dinosaur and the background, is great. My only gripe is a scientific one: Albertasaurus, and not Tyrannosaurus, is the best known Arctic Tyrannosaur. Not to say that T.rex never lived in Alaska, it's just that Albertasaurus was probably more common there. Ah well, it's an awesome drawing, and I've always wanted to imagine a Tyrant Lizard King of the Midnight Sun.

Thanks.
The quils I placed on its neck and arms are mainly there for display. Any how, I thought Albertosaurus became somewhat rare during the end of the Cretaceous period?

Well, Albertosaurus was around to hunt prey like Edmontosaurus, but I imagine it was somewhat outcompeted by T.rex, so yeah, at the end, it may have become rarer.
BTW, I have 2 dinosaurs and a BattleMech up in my gallery. Please look at them and comment.
