Description
This is Tera "Specs" Aurelius the unit's techie. and is up there with Pixie as my favorite character in the Kill Team. she also went from little more than a curvy nerdy adorable character, to a badass dangerous killer, to a curvy nerdy adorable badass dangerous killer! and has the most fleshed out history so far of the entire regiment.Specs was born to Marco Aurelius, a one time ganger, ex special forces, ex knife fighting/close quarters combat gold medalist, and current international legendary star in the Ultraman Extreme Combat League under the name Marcus Maximus Aurelius. though mostly he trains the younger generations, and occasionaly enters the ring to show the young bucks "how it's done"
As his only child, Marco never hesitated to pass on what he's spent a lifetime learning, even though the mere thought of teaching a girl such unwomanly things like knife fighting. his special forces buddies took her under their wings and made sure her childhood was filled with all sorts of things that children shouldn't be learning. she learned how to hotwire a car before she was old enough to drive one. she can hack almost any computer system she comes across, and she is bar none the deadliest knife fighter in the regiment. When it was clear that her interest in men was solely as "buddies" and her interest in women was much more than friendly, her father was sad, but didn't seem overly surprised. She believes that he likely saw very early that she wasn't going to be like other girls, and thats why he and his buddies taught her everything they did. As despite mediocre performance reviews in fitness and firearms, she was still welcomed into the regiment and quickly promoted to Lieutenant. Specs is the girl you turn to when you need to get through that pesky security door, or access that computer terminal, or secure an emergency get away. She's also the regiment's procurement expert. if you want or need something, she's the one who'll get it for you...for a price. she's also the one who runs most of the betting pools.
Specs' mother, on the other hand, did not take the news well. she raved and screamed and disowned Specs instantly. she now tells people she's never had a daughter. those who knew Specs she tells "That wretched little hellion is dead. died forgotten on some backwater world, like she deserved" Specs was forced to send her letters home to her dad via his work after she learned that her mother burned them unread. She, like many in the regiment, has no love, nor desire to return to the homeworld, though unlike many she dearly misses her father, and keeps in as constant contact as possible. her smuggling contacts enable her to keep in better and more constant contact than most guardsmen in any regiment are capable of, though it's quite costly. fortunately business is good, and she's rarely hard up for spending money.
amongst the regiment, she's very popular as the go to girl, betmaster, and generally a fun chick to hang out with. she DOES spend more time reading than partying, but she's also the one who'll get the booze for the party. she also teaches any of the ladies who's not afraid of a little blood to knife fight and is the regiment's ringer when some friendly competition against other regiments occur. she's also devious, cunning, and has a definite mercenary streak. she won't gamble unless it's as close to a sure thing as can be had, and if she's got to nudge something or other to make it a sure thing, she's not above that. Specs has been sweet on Seriph since the moment she laid eyes on her. and the Colonel, knowing this, transfered Seriph into the same unit a couple weeks earlier than she may have otherwise because she figured Specs wouldn't hesitate to try to loosen Seriph up a bit. the spring thats wound too tight is bound to break, they say. While none of this was mentioned at all to Specs, she did jump at the oppritunity, and her and Seriph have been a pair ever since.

oh yes, very very awesome. as mercenary as Specs is, she can also be a sweetheart. I hate having one dimensional characters.

Sounds like the perfect person for CQB situations. Just hand over a Shotty, and there you go. Weaknesses in firearms skill go away in tight situations.

the regiment is actually pretty specialist in kit vs the average IG regiment. they use a lot more shotguns, they carry more flashbangs than frag grenades, carry shaped plastic explosives instead of tube charges, and use specially modified hellguns in a bullpup setup.
best I can describe them is there an entire regiment of SAS, but not so much counter-terrorism so much as recapturing entire cities.

I'm pretty sure that, if you got them angry enough, the SAS could take entire cities back.

they'd need larger numbers too
now an entire regiment of SAS...
