I'm currently at my grandmother's house, so as a result I haven't been able to get around to checking my messages - I'm not trying to ignore anyone! She requested that I draw her a rabbit, because she's starting to collect them. My grandma is 76 years old as of 2009, but this year we found out she has cancer. She's doing all right for now, thankfully, but it's gonna be a long hard fight, and every day that we have her now is a blessing: we never know when she's going to take a turn for the worse. It's very sad, but we'll make it.

So I drew this for her today (thankfully I make a habit of taking my Prismacolors, Micron pens, and a sketchpad with me everywhere!) and she likes it very much.

The colors on this are a little dull - my scanner isn't the greatest ever, and was also too small for the sketchpad either. My sketch pad was 11 x 14 inches, and the drawing is only just a little smaller than that, which means it barely fit in the 9 x 12 inch scanner. The pale yellow-green background is a little more yellow than it is in real life, and the browns in the rabbit have dulled to something a little more gray - it's difficult to see the warmer undertones of its fur. Oh well.

Media Used: Strathmore Sketch Paper; drawn with a 0.07 mm mechanical pencils then inked with Pigma Micron pen (3. mm); colored with Berol Prismacolor Pencils. Some of the colors used were: yellow bice, raw umber, dark brown, burnt umber, sepia, warm dark gray, and marine green. There might've been a few I missed...

P.S. I really need to do more real media stuff like this. I know, I always say that and never do...
