Description

This is the settings I used to export FBX from DAZ Studio 4.12.0.42 Pro Public Build to Blender 2.80.

Noted that DAZ Studio 4.12.0.42 Pro Public Build is BETA.  The settings for DAZ Studio 4.11 should be the same.  The last version of Blender 2.79 (e045fe53f1b0) has the FBX Importer very close to version 2.80.  Therefore, it should work too.

The last version of Blender 2.79 can be found at download.blender.org/release/B…

I guess, it is something do with the unit.  In Blender 2.8, the unit for the scene can be set.

If you set the scale of the model in Blender, you will need to apply the scale before export.

I just use the Diffeomorphic plugin for Blender... import directly from DAZ without having to export first. Can add shapekeys from Daz morphs, poses, clothing, etc. from Daz after importing. Rig is intact and there's a tool for converting to a Blender rig.

Do you know any free custom Rig controller
to import ( custom Rig controller for Daz3D model )
in blender 2.80 ?

You could check Blendswap, but I just use the built-in Rigify rig in Blender.

so you have to Rig the daz3d model all over again

or attached custom Rig controller ( Rigify rig ) to daz3d model

if so , how can I do that.... is there a tutorial on attaching the Rigify rig  controller with one click on the daz3d model ?

A better option is to use the Diffeomorphic addon for Blender: diffeomorphic.blogspot.com/p/d…
It basically works like this...
You put the Daz script in your scripts folder (where your "My Library" is located), install the Blender addon (explained on the link above).
In Daz, you get your character how you want it with clothes, hari, textures, etc., then save as a scene file. Go to the Daz scripts and run the Diffeomorphic script, saving the file with the same name as your Daz scene.
In Blender, find the addon tab and import the Daz file. From there, you can merge all the rigs into one, and then convert the Daz rig to the Blender rig with 1 click.
It's kinda complicated at first, but once you do it, you'll have a full Daz character in Blender.

All you do is select the Daz rig in Blender (in object mode) and under the "Finishing" section of the addon, select "convert to Rigify" or something like that.

FBX exports from DAZ has been a crapshoot. Is there a way to apply location/rotation/scale in DAZ like you can in Blender? Seems everytime I set up a scene (with props) in DAZ then export the FBX, the parts "explode". What you see in DAZ is never what you get when importing any FBX to Blender or whatever 3D program.

Here's a scene in DAZ then here's the FBX from DAZ to Blender 2.80 beta:

Notice the steering, seat, and other parts just move to other locations and hidden items also get exported.

From one of the comments of this post, I found the Diffeomorphic plugin for Blender.  See if diffeomorphic.blogspot.com/p/d… works for you.

In my case, I only export a single character, not a scene.

Forgot to mention I did try that as well... just odd things. Thanks either way, I may hit up DAZ forums looking for answers.

I knew mcjTeleBlender (sites.google.com/site/mcasuals… ) by mCasual transfer DAZ Studio scene to Blender is very good.  As I know, that script uses OBJ format instead of FBX.  Therefore, you will not be able to adjust the pose the character if you want to in Blender.

Is the solution to that Distorted mesh problem.

amyaimei In reply to FleetAdmiral01 [2019-08-03 01:40:17 +0000 UTC]

I'm not sure what "distorted mesh problem" you are referring to.  Try my settings and see the result.  Of course, do not expect the DS materials will look good in Blender.  Some works need to be done.  In addition, the bone's orientation doesn't look good but it works.

FleetAdmiral01 In reply to amyaimei [2019-08-03 01:41:36 +0000 UTC]

In the past when I tried to import a DAZ or Poser character for that matter into Blender as an FBX file the mesh would be all distorted. Something would go wrong with the bones. I've since resolved the matter though.

You mean the twisted body?  There is no such issue with the settings I used.  The example of bone orientation issue I observed is the arm bones point upward instead of following the direction of the arm.
