It's not robot body, it's armor. She is a full person underneath.

This is a purely theoretical question, but would it be possible to do a similar animation involving Captain Phasma from Star Wars, The Force Awakens?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

AnAlternateUsername In reply to RogueDragon2010 [2016-02-15 21:38:04 +0000 UTC]

i'm pretty sure there is a phasma model somewhere floating around, I'll check it out.

RogueDragon2010 In reply to AnAlternateUsername [2016-02-15 22:09:15 +0000 UTC]

Cool. Don't know if it would involve a ton of work from your perspective, but if you did do an animation involving Phasma, I'd love to see her somewhere between 20 - 100 times Palmer's size in this video. (Gigantic enough to flatten a city with a single footstep, not just a Warthog)

That's something I would seriously pay to see if it involved a lot of work.

Oh yeah, I've gotta a couple ideas how I'd pull off that kind of scale. I'll give it a shot.

I wish I knew the background to this peace.

Put simply, what's p****d Palmer this time, and why is the city on the receiving end of her sudden rampage.

Well I'd like to say that I would say to her face that that is not fare, but I think it would still end with me as a stain on her bootsole.

Though they're not FPSs I got on a nostalgia trip for Robot Alchemic Drive and Mechassault 2 whilst making this.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

AnAlternateUsername In reply to TheWiking2000 [2016-02-14 23:07:27 +0000 UTC]

Well actually before I settled for this I tried to copy one of those POV vore scenes in the fog in 'X', but it was a bit too complex . So I can easily say the same thing about your work. Thanks though!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TheWiking2000 In reply to AnAlternateUsername [2016-02-15 13:55:49 +0000 UTC]

Haha! Well, thank you! If you didn't know it already, it was your scene with Zoey hitting that helicopter (combined with some Cloverfield) that inspired my crashing helicopter scene in "Chapter X". I though it looked cool when you had it spin and people fall out by the centripetal force, I just had to have a go at it!

I don't mind doing complex scenes, but you've got a feeling to yours that I would love to be able to replicate. It's the grittiness, the wobbling camera and the natural movement of the characters, that just is spot on. Problem with Daz is you can't do motion blur relative to the camera (it's only relative to the stationary grid of the scene).

AnAlternateUsername In reply to TheWiking2000 [2016-02-17 05:33:25 +0000 UTC]

Oh wow that's really cool to hear! ^_^
Oh yeah I know what you mean, I'm a huge fan of Neill Blomkamp and his docu-scifi aesthetic and I've been trying to copy his style for ages.
Hm, that seems like a really odd way to handle motion blur. You can always try and use the force motion blur preset in after effects.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TheWiking2000 In reply to AnAlternateUsername [2016-02-17 06:15:34 +0000 UTC]

I like his style to. That's a good director to try to emulate.

Thanks, I've had a look at creating motion blur in after effects but it's not really an option for really long projects (like Chapter X), but it is usable in smaller snippets, definitely.
