I decided to redesign Deric since I'm revamping him for a Discord RP my friend convinced me to join, and I've got to say, this is a major improvement over my first rendition of him. Leaning into the incredibly vague Egyptian influences he had from the start helped a lot, and my art and character design skills have improved a lot since I first drew him. It also helped that I have a much better grasp on his character than I did now.

I also had an excuse to give him an incredibly long and overcomplicated name, which is always fun. Though in the process of coming up with a name that had the right sound and connotations, I discovered that the reconstructed Egyptian form of Thoth is Djehuti and I'm sorry, how on earth did the Greeks get Thoth from Djehuti??? Did... Did the Egyptians just go "This is our wisdom god, Djehuti," only for the Greeks to go "What's this? Θωθ?"
