LOL sorry for the crazy lyric posting lately
but I feel that this song fits drej pretty well? sooooooooo another entry in the EPIC avian contest for =kilara as you can see I am determined for an avian character :I)
this time I decided to do drejrael...
kind of funny since my original plan was do do all of the avians BUT kilara's characters... but I didn't like the layout of the picture and... it didn't really have any meaning or feel to it :c so I decided not to...
what I love about kilara's avian chracters is their story and build... which I don't particularly feel from the other avian characters... :c *shot*

Beautiful piece beb, i'm loving the vibrancy of the blues and the pose works out very nicely with the over all atmosphere of the picture. The detail in the feathers is a nice touch and i'm liking the little Nailmus addition in the water there.
The only thing i would suggest some improvement on is the rendering of the background. It seems awfully rushed in comparison to Drej, and almost too vibrant if the picture itself is set in a more nocturnal scene. So really all i would try doing is playing with the contrasts a bit, unless there is something glowing off picture that is illuminating it. As for Drej himself the anatomy seems to be pretty good, though his wing there seems a bit short on the left.
Overall i think you did very well with this, the blue is a nice eye catcher and the reflections give it a nice flow. Well done C:

Overall, this is a very beautiful piece. The colors are bright and the perspective is very eye-catching.
The background, although simple, is visually appealing with the use of simple shapes and shading. The only thing that throws me off is the bright color of the teal columns. They catch my eye before everything else and the subject loses a little of its appeal.
Drej's expression fits the character and I especially like his wings. The feathers are gorgeous. However, I think his neck is a little sitff and maybe slightly awkward looking. Other than that, he looks quite regal and proud.
This piece is not only simple but gorgeous, with lots of detail in the subject, and makes for a thought-provoking character. c:

<3 your art is amazing! you put so much detail into the characters and you can create whatever mood you want. You also have an amazing eye for composition. In this one, you put Nailmus in the very center of the piece, which could be bad, but you did alright with it since he's small and far away. The eye doesn't notice him right away.
However, I want to say something about your general style and technique. I love your art, please don't feel like I'm attacking you--I'm just trying to give you some creative criticism. I feel like you put tons of detail into your characters and somewhat neglect your backgrounds. Your characters are so solid and retrospective, but your backgrounds tend to be more abstract, almost as though you didn't care enough about the background to spend as much time on it as you did the figures.
