Here goes some of the Cowering's GoodXXX tools,
these utilies are especially useful to avoid playing with bad roms,
(known as bad dumps, see the Goodcode = [b])
scan & detect and allow various operation on roms,
classify your database (and keep the [!] roms) .
The Goodtools are command-line based (well, nothing unbearable...^^) but you may grab some frontend
if you're not very familiar with the process.

Oh ok, if I recall correctly, rom renaming was hard coded into the executable, so if, for any reason, you don't agree with the new name autodetection will use for any rom, I'm afraid nothing can be done..
