Description
'Tried a HD remake of a Castlevania sprite seen in Symphony of the night, a pretext to push some pixels without the pain of scratch creation, I also knew I would recycle it for a playstation icon [link]I kind of played fair on the palette level, because it's more challenging, so the color count is the same as in the original, 15 colours. On the other hand, I also realized during the remaking that pixelling this huge and staying low on details feels almost no pixellish. Frankly, this could be vectory. Thus, the Tao taught me something today: I shall pixel small, or be prepared to loose what pixelling is for.
Credit is given to the sprite ripper: SmithyGCN for TSR [link] I also discovered that he has an account here, so, if you want to pay him a visit follow the [link]

Funny note is about this sprite, even if it might be seen 2 or 3 times a replay, far from being something to be remembered by any player, still, the graphician(s) did not mirror it.
Indeed, there is this part of interpretation. When I placed eyes on these original eyeless faces I wondered if this was right or not, I gave up trying to paint a mouth though, because it turned out to be too much expressive to me. The HigherDef spriting is... Well, you already know these cases, but with your pencil !

Very nice! I remember doing this sort of thing expect with doing it in scratch...with a pencil....
It's a pretty interesting process using your own eyes to interpret the sprite and adding your own details to make it more complete when certain parts are too vague due to the nature of simple, pixel-based sprites.

Indeed it is similar the way we do it. It just on different "mediums". I would like to see you do this more often. Not that I demand it but you're good at this in my eyes!

I'm afraid this is not something I'm willing to try that often, because this is very demanding for what it brings (I mean, in the end, this is only a copy) but if there's a purpose to it, game remake for instance, I think it could be valuable.

Well, I can see how. I do this for fun and for me, it's not too long but I see how your way would be a LOT more time-consuming.
