I was asked to draw a horse in the same style as this: [link]again, Russian folk tales
It's not a specific tale, I just imagined as if it would be an illustration and tried to catch the spirit of Russian tales and nature. Степь, прошитая пулями, обнимала меня,
и полынь обгоревшая накормила коня...
("Прощальная")
В прозрачном холоде заголубели долы,
Отчетлив стук подкованных копыт,
Трава поблекшая в расстеленные полы
Сбирает медь с обветренных ракит.
С пустых лощин ползет дугою тощей
Сырой туман, курчаво свившись в мох,
И вечер, свецившись над речкою, полощет
Водою белой пальцы синих ног.
Осенним холодом расцвечены надежды,
Бредет мой конь, как тихая судьба,
И ловит край махающей одежды
Его чуть мокрая буланая губа.

I really like the fact you drew this in the style of Ivan Bilibin, one of my all time favourite illustrators. Growing up my favourite book was his version of Vasilisa the Beautiful.

Wonderful work! I used to draw horses a lot when I was younger, but I was never as talented as you are. And I also love the colors, composition and surroundings in this one, everything works so well together creating a beautifully melancholic mood.
