Here's a different take on the usage of tones compared to 2nd version. I like the B&W squares better. To much grey tones on canvas. It's kind of absorbing the volume in the image by narrowing the white. I would like to see the starmap in B&W and masked over the black squares. I reccon its speckled look would lift up the image much more. Good luck!

I've always wanted to be a soothsayer. Hahaha. Excellent. Hmmm. Couldn't the ceiling be in a squared pattern as well. Grey and white squares. No?!

that will be like a mirror image of the floor! no, i think it looks better open-spaced through which you could see the stars. oh, and i'm using the dark ceiling as a base for the 3d chess map. it's nearly done, hope i can finish it tonight and upload it tomorrow
but thanks anyway hunny!!

why don't you try working on the tarot deck we discussed before? you'd be brilliant at it!

Succubus-Angel In reply to andie5 [2006-11-28 13:03:59 +0000 UTC]
I'm seriously contemplating it. I just to find pieces of paper and measurements for tarot cards (original sizing) and see what I can do about getting them all cut up and ready ^O^

andie5 In reply to Succubus-Angel [2006-11-29 02:49:35 +0000 UTC]
ahhh technicals! can't you work it up from a digital file? i'm kind of making my playing card series too right now and i just take a card image from the net (a high-res one) and paste my drawing onto it so i don't have to bother about measurements it might work!
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Succubus-Angel In reply to andie5 [2006-11-29 05:27:55 +0000 UTC]
Either that, or I can research the size of the card and work from that. I'm the type of person who has to draw on the paper ^O^ I'm just weird like that
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
andie5 In reply to Succubus-Angel [2006-11-29 06:11:24 +0000 UTC]
but that's actually good! i'm doing it digitally cos everything can be touched up using computer... hehe, im that lazy

Succubus-Angel In reply to andie5 [2006-11-29 06:13:21 +0000 UTC]
Yes, I've often heard that the way of the physical artistry is going very much the way of the dodo with more and more artists going the Wacom way ^O^
That's okay though! To each their own, and I'll be an anchor to the past, lol.
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
andie5 In reply to Succubus-Angel [2006-11-29 06:19:41 +0000 UTC]
lol! no, i don't think wacom can replace traditional drawings. and plus it just feel more 'real' when it's got real texture, and not just a digital file that can be deleted with the touch of a button!
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Succubus-Angel In reply to andie5 [2006-11-29 06:24:43 +0000 UTC]
That's very true, hence another reason why I'm hesitant to use the Wacom Way as I like to call it, lol.
I'm afraid my comp will crash or shortcircuit and allll those drawings I will have done will be gone or damaged. At least with drawings done in pencil, you can rescan them in (after much swearing and muttering of having to get the computer back up and running, lol).
So yes, all styles are wonderful and that's the great thing is being able to pick and choose ^_^
