Description
A series of illustrations for my illustration IV final.The theme i chose was "flowers". The context? merely conceptual. The individual themes for each one are "ornamental" and "edible" types of flowers.
These were originally painted in gouache,watercolor, and ink, but i scanned them into photoshop to alter them quite a bit, hence why they are under "digital"

Also I had never heard of James Jean before.. I looked him up and I GUESS I could see the similarities other people see but both of your works are pretty distinct from one another if you ask me! I mean he does his thing and you do yours is what I'm saying I guess.

JJ has nothing on you, gurrrll. The soft etherealness if this and some of your other art is so divine. It has such a silky feeling to it-- the silkiness combined with the slight creepiness is a really interesting mix. I love the feeling that comes from it!

im so happy you think my style is set apart from jjs. i've tried hard this whole year to develop something different from his way of doing things, because i know we are so similar. ~_~
nuurrdrgkjdr really it inspires me that you love my stuff. haha you dont know how long i stalked you wishing to learn your secrets and to make work like yours (i still do but now its mutual har har). i know you are sometimes disappointed in your work but trust me it is a breath of fresh air, and every time i visit your gallery i'm both aw-inspired and jealous. just sayin.

Yeah I really don't see many similarities between your work and his :T Besides, just because he's famous doesn't mean that you'd draw any inspiration from him anyway? Like why are you the one borrowing from him? It's just because people know his name, blah. Your creature designs in particular are vastly different and far more alive and exciting than anything I've seen him do 8| his work seems to be pretty just for pretty's sake, but yours breathes creativity, imagination, and like there's a story behind every image (whether there is or not). Your brain is your own, no doubt about that

yeah that's why i try to not let it get to me. i know most people are limited in their knowledge of artists so the famous ones always get mentioned first. most mean it as a compliment too, so i just try to take it 8| i am so petrified once i graduate college people are going to compare me to him left and right, and not recognize me for me. 
and shut up you are marvelously amazingly fantastic and don't you think otherwise. one day we will both be amazingly famous or something and then we'll look back and laugh at how worried we were.

hmmm maybe! i love doing conceptual art, it really gets the noggin fired up, so i think ill try to continue stuff like this in the future

Yeah! it's really fun to see where the art takes you as your drawing, and I can feel the creativity in these, they really are a pleasure to see!
I know what you mean about style changes, it's always nerve racking to put something new up, but so far people always seem interested in the extents of their favorite artists. So I say keep doing it! I would definitely vote for seeing more <3
