Description Finally! It`s finished!
This one was so long (mainly because I could draw not more than 2 hours a day, because of homeworks). I think it was about 30 hours total. Done in photoshop CS2 with a mouse.

Entry for contest.

Since I`m not one of those good artists, whose drawings are so perfectly clear, that there`s no need for explaining what`s in this picture, I have no other choice but to write explanation. So it`s a wolf. She`s standing at the lake shore, and lake water shows reflection of her soul. In her life she`s acting and pretends to be staid and peaceful, while she feels anger and emptiness, her heart bears only hatred towards everything.

I know that =PolarisAstrum favorite animals are horses (at least gallery gives me such idea). At the beginning I really wanted to draw 2 horses, one how it appears and reflection of what`s in soul. But then I understood that would mean just putting in one image [link] and [link] And that would be just useless to draw such black and white horses again. And then I started to think that wolf in such situation would be much more meaningful and suit better.

I have put here differences between black and white as well as red and blue (cold and warm colors). In reflection I changed her head to make an angry expression. I didn`t changed her pose to attacking, because I wanted to have the mirror effect. Rocks and dead trees shows how empty and sad she feels.

For lake waves I made some brushes, so that took me only 5 minutes to draw them. THESE BRUSHES ARE AVAILABLE HERE [link]
For grass and leaves I used brushes made by *redheadstock and *Katikut .

I don`t know why it` s called 4D either. I have never heard that there exist something like 4D images.

I hope so.

that ould be really cool
but what would the 4th dimension be?
height, width, length... ???

There are only 3 axis, x, y and z in the frame of references, so I have no idea where to get the 4th one, I`d say that` s impossible.

maybe the 4th dimension is time. movement, instead of a still frame.

That could be so. Then animation that`s made in 3D technique could be it.

This is so amazing!
I really don't know where Ishould start commenting or what should I say. Only thing that I can somewhat figure out at the moment is that you're so going to win that contest! Congrats in advance
Maybe I'll start with the idea. It's really nice and works well with the given subject. I agree with your decision, it's better that the poses are same, it raises the meaning of this pic. Or at least I think so. Ayway, you've done both wolves awesomely, especially that darker one. I really love her expression and ears. And the same with the background trees and such. They're all really nicely done. And even though you've used brushes, it still looks good. It seems you really can use them. Especially the water brush. I could spent many hours just staring the water, it looks so realistic.
This picture really is worth of all those hours! Great work

Thanks so much.
I really want to win, so I can only hope that it will happen. But there already are some other amazing entries that I really like.
First one that I painted was the lighter one, for the other I just duplicated layer, flipped vertical, and did some color balance and curves adjustments. Only thing I really did for that wolf was head that I drew completely different. But somehow I like the red version better than the blue one, although my favorite color is blue.

For water I made two brushes, one for shadows, and second for highlights. For these brushes I just used default brush to paint waves, because I better paint only few waves and make them into a brush instead of painting every single wave in the picture. I like creating brushes for these things that repeats many times in image. That lets to save lots of time.

Speaking about these brushes, perhaps I could upload the brushes in DA, if you are saying that waves are good. But I only don`t know if that could possibly be useful for anyone. Before making this pic I found out that there`s no wave brushes that could fit my needs, so lazy me had to make some for myself.

That is soooo great!
Lovely lovely idea! I simply love it!
And it's good to see another animal other than horses though, they may be my favorites but it doesn't mean people can't draw other stuff(as long at it meets the rules).
This is becoming really tough competition, I'm going to have a hard time choosing the winners XD

Thank you so much for entering! Again!
