Am I the only one who thinks that this design of Elsa looks like Toph and Azula from Avatar:Β The Last Airbender?

Nope, totally see the Toph resemblance and with the facial expression and her hand raised - I can see a bit of Azula there

In the deleted scene that featured this design, Elsa said to two guards she captured and threatened, "Never underestimate the power of Ice and Snow". That sounded so Star Wars-ish. Come to think of it, I noticed that Elsa's Ice Palace looks like the Sith Citadel from SWTOR and the first ground snowflake she creates looks like the Imperial Insignia from the same game. Not trying to push anything though, just a coincidence most likely.
This design and the deleted scene to me reads: "Emperor Palpatine visited Elsa and turned her to the dark side"

She doesn't look half as bad as a brunette, although I prefer her as a blonde imo.

Um, she's not a brunette. In this pic she has black hair, not brown.

Brunettes are classified as having hair color that will range from brown to black in their niche. Elsa is a brunette under these circumstances, like it or not.

Nice work! I'm glad they went with the design they did, though. (Not to mention her role change. What a relief, huh?) Do you think you might be able to do the same for one of her OLDEST designs?

Nice work.Β You're not too far off about that.Β In the original Hans Christian Andersen Snow Queen fairy-tale, the Snow Queen was a villain.Β The boy & girl in the story were named Kai & Gerda, and Kai joked about putting the Snow Queen on a stove & melting her.Β The Snow Queen punished him by stabbing in the eye & heart with a shard of magical ice, which froze his heart & made him mean & cruel towards Gerda.Β She then kidnapped Kai & Gerda had to go on a big adventure to rescue him, b/c she loved him and didn't want him lost forever.Β There's more to the story, but you get the gist of where Disney got their ideas.

I never really saw he much of a villain myself...sure, she was a darker character, but I never saw her as an all out villain.

Not as Elsa in the Disney film, no.Β But if you watch the 1957 cartoon www.imdb.com/title/tt0050987/ (mom bought me an tape of it in English back in the 90s), or the Hallmark live action movie www.imdb.com/title/tt0210294/?β¦ you would see why she's seen as a villain in some versions of the story.Β

I mainly refer to the original tale. I've seen most editions out there (including the 2012 version) and yes I'll agree there she's portrayed a bit....differently. I enjoyed the Hallmark one though. (I like their adaptations of books.) When I read the story though, I don't really see her as a villain. But that's probably just me.Β

I personally enjoy Elsa more because she's a very well-developed character.Β In the original tale she was so 2-dimensional.Β Hans really should have spent a little more time on her while writing the story.Β It also bothered me how Gerda & Kai were children, and they seemed much too young to be in love.Β I makes more sense if they were teenagers or young adults, b/c their motivation would be a lot stronger, especially Gerda's to rescue Kai.Β

Oh yes indeed, I do too. I think that making her a more misunderstood character was a good move. It helps those unique people who feel shunned by the common crowd relate to her. (Like me for example. Thank you John Lasseter for your input on the character.) In the original though, I think there's a mystery about her that makes the reader in awe of her when she's around. I think the romance between them is actually quite sweet. But I myself am a hopeless romantic. But again, that's probably just me.
