Description
Alone in the SnowWhat a nice hike I had today. To warm up my legs for the upcoming snow shoe season, I went up to the entrance of the "Bärenschützklamm" - one of my favorite gorges. The path up there was covered in fresh snow and I was the first one to walk on it - in fact I was the only who walked that path for the whole day. This is a peaceful as it can get.
I passed by this area of dense forest. I know this place well and back in summer I wondered how this will look with a little snow on it - here you go.
I wish I already had my LF gear running at that moment. As you can see it's already 4x5 and I even had to correct for some tilt in Photoshop.
Enjoy the wintertime - at the moment it's snowing again here and we will get even more snow in the next few days.

Sitting here as I am,with my laptop on a hot spring day{i've never seen real snow or......trees so...perfectly straight?!!}in sunny Oz,this makes me long to visit snowy faery-tale lands...this makes me think of the Brothers Grimm and all those forests in their stories...just enchanting!!

It's so common. Trees and snow. But you made this photo so well, that this sight makes me dreaming of seeing something like that in front of me. Beautiful.

I like patterns and this one was very appealing to me. Thanks.

Winter is my favorite time of the year for photography especially when there are scenes like this. Well done!

I've not ever heard the term "LF gear" so I wondered what it is.

Oh sorry ... it's my large format camera and lenses ... 4x5".

I see. Why did you go large format when you can gain so much resolution by stitching frames and still have the advantages of a light weight system? I'm not criticising, I'm just curious.

Stitiching will never bring the details of the 4x5. You would have to change focal lengths for that which will have an effect on DOF - it's never the same.
I also like the characteristics of film (like the Velvia). And the best about it is the tilt/shift ability. Speaking of light-weight. The LF gear would be about the same weight as the digital gear.

Here's hoping Fuji continues to make Velvia well into the future.

I hope so too. But it's still too early for large format photography to die.

I was in the woods the other day looking for shot similar and it's not easy. You did a great job here.
