Description
This painting is based on a sketch I did 2 years ago ([link] ). I wanted to give it the same degree of finish as my previous painting "Warm Mist".I leave a suggestive title hoping that you make up your own story behind it...for me it could be a party of deadly warriors silently emerging from the morning mist about to suprise the enemy.
Again, Peder Mork Monsted was a great source of inspiration.

This is stunning!! Not sure what story I see in this, but I get the feeling of a population on the move, silently slipping away before some approaching doom destroys the lands they are leaving behind... Very differnt to the story you describe, but that is what I see from this...
Absolutely love this.

A really wonderful piece, though I love the energy of the original sketch.

I love it very much, as I also love your overall Style anyways, but I kinda liked the original sketch better, as it had fresher, less evening-like colors to it...
The riders also looked less tired. Dunno why, ... guess it's their sitting position.
Thumbs up!

Made me first think of the ancient Irish fae on the arrival of the Gauls, and then I thought of when all the elves left Middle Earth.

For me it's a group of defeated warriors, fleeing after their hometown has been invaded and ransacked, trying to find a place to rest.

I like this. It's very mysterious. It could be either an army of warriors marching to an attack or a mass exodus of natives forced to leave their home. I like this a lot. It inspires me to write.

Actually i'm going to be a pain in the bum and say I prefer the sketch from two years ago! This is lovely - but I prefer the looseness and shapes of the original.

I love the way you painted it so as they appear getting ready to strike, beautiful, and realistic.

Nice job. I can't choose which is better. I love the effects/texture on the rough sketch, yet I also love the atmosphere and mood in this painting. There's a great story behind this as well. A really good job.

The original rough speed impressed me, I loved the lighting and the concept!
What a good idea to have pushed a final level.
I can not say which I prefer, I can always be a small preference for the first rough, I love the grain / texture.
Nice work

great sense of mystery! Looks like a snapshot out of an epic fantasy blockbuster. Great storytelling.
