Ok, this painting was bothering me too much for me to let it stay in my gallery so I had to put in scraps. Thank you everyone who fav'ed and commented on it, but most of you are right, the anatomy needs much more work and this is not something representative of what a finished piece should look like in my opinion.Requested by ToZeG
First of all, thank you so much for all the suggestions! I read them all and it's always so incredibly hard picking just one, but since I really liked this idea (and I also noticed a few other zombie suggestions) I chose this one. I also felt that I had to practice my non-existent character skills.
The painting itself once again inspired by adonihs and marek, whose character skills I'd kill for. Fortunately for them they're too far away, so they're safe... for now.

EDIT: I give up, I just can't get the girl the way I want her. But shouldn't be a surprise, I suck at anatomy.. I'm sorry, you're gonna have to take her as she is.
The angle of her leg is intentional though, since the soldier is in the process of turning his body rapidly to the right.

I love this , it is full of drama and I love the expressions on the faces , not necessarily realistic but very dramatic ..... I think you are mistaken to dismiss this.

Scraps, schmaps! The motions and action in the scene is incredibly good. That alone should, even if you aren't satisfied with the piece as a whole, mark it as an excellent example of your ability to branch out of your comfort zone.

Dear lord I wish you could sell talent in a bottle. Sadly you can't. Hopefully, you don't need any. 
The blood and smoke effects are out of this world, and your usual attention to details all over the palce truly makes this peice comme to life. I can almost hear them scream...

one thing i dont like is the lil girls face looks older then it should and she seems too short lol
and also i reccomend lightening instead of fire, the fire added into a zombie scene looks cool but ruins ur concept...
for your next painting i suggest trying a robots vs monsters scifi theme or something that would be cool

my only thing woudl be is that shes too small to have hanged on, hes going to lose the girl... but i like the painting, if its a acturall painting then its 1(insert infint 0's) better then anything i can do, if its painted in photoshop or other computer program it is 1(insert a large number of 0's) better then i can do. either way you have more skills then i do.

love this one... and I love the expression on the soldiers face... so dude... your character skills are better than you gonna admit...
you should maybe add some swoosh to the weapon in his left hand to show the turning of his body... to build "speed"... just a suggestion...

And i like how you gave him protection goggles... we've seen it all in 28 Days later.... getting Zombieblood in your Eye(s) will turn you into one of them in no time!! Almost no one thinks about this when doing movies/games/pictures... but you did. I salute you!

True, the girl's legs are swayed away...though the girl could just have her legs around the soldier instead.
If the situation was real, that's what frightened kids would most probably do; wrap all limbs around the one who is protecting them and hold on tight.

Great painting with a lot of action and drama! It's to bad that you gave up on fixing the girl, since she is the only part dragging this image down. She is way to small compared to the soldier. She has the size of a baby, but the slimness of an older child. The best thing you could do for this painting is to remove her completely, which would be a shame, or start over on her and pay close attention to her size compared to the soldier.
Of course there comes a time where you just have to leave a painting as it is and call it finished, no matter if you're satisfied with it or not
