I'm having an issue with the grass brushes. In your tutorial, you have said to use the grass brushes on the layer mask. Well, for some reason, when I try to use the green color, it won't work on the layer mask. If I use it in the model layer or another layer, I can choose any color with the eyedropper tool. But when I click on the layer mask, the only colors I can get are black and white. Do you have any idea why this is happening?

Worked like a charm. I'm new and was doing - as you said - it all wrong. I think this method is quite a bit easier and looks more realistic as well. Thank you for putting this together and posting it.

yea, that looks really good. The grass looks indeed realistic. You could even use a bigger brush to make taller grass
