Plato lets Socrates describe a group of people who have lived chained to the wall of a cave all of their lives, facing a blank wall. The people watch shadows projected on the wall by things passing in front of a fire behind them, and begin to ascribe forms to these shadows. According to Plato's Socrates, the shadows are as close as the prisoners get to viewing reality. He then explains how the philosopher is like a prisoner who is freed from the cave and comes to understand that the shadows on the wall do not make up reality at all, as he can perceive the true form of reality rather than the mere shadows seen by the prisoners.

I have seriously been having dreams about this picture and lense. I rarely feel a picture is worthy to comment, but it's really amazing. I have been dreaming of a day when i can afford that lense. how often do you use it on 8mm? i feel like the 4/5 would be unbearably slow. do you think the 11-16 at 2/8 would work as well or do you honestly think going to 8 is worth it?

Well, if you think you can get an iso of 800+ without having noise problems then the 8-16mm from Sigma is a great choise. If you think your camera cant handle the noise problem, an wide lens with an aperture value of 2.8 is better. The 8mm is worth it only if you really like wide angle photos, and only if you want to experiment with wide angle disortions.
