Continuing with the Lovecraft theme, Shub-Niggurath, also known as 'The Black Goat of the Woods', 'The Goat with a Thousand Young', or variations thereof, is defined as a mother goddess in the mythos. She's first mentioned in the Lovecraft story 'The Last Test', with additional developments provided by authors August Derleth, Robert Bloch, and Ramsey Campbell. In this case, I tried to take the concept of a fertility goddess and warp her into an obscene abomination, a terrible corruption of the beauty normally associated with the act of creation.Created on Strathmore Drawing pad using 2B and Prismacolor Ebony pencils.
