Description
NOW AVAILABLE AS A PRINT!!!Another version of the Majestic Blue design i have just added, but with an added Knight on the rock infront of the Dragon.
This helps to understand the scale a little moe and changes the feel of the image completly as the Dragon is now friendly.
It also adds a little bit more story to the image.
I dont know which I prefer though.
How about you?

if I look at this artwork,
I like to think the knight protects the dragon of all the unfair of his own kin (humanity)
and the dragon protects the knight of his relatives in exchange for friendship,
Because of their duties to their on kin their friendship is forbidden,
to prevent their kin to destroy each other over a forbidden act that they did,
They forged a alliance to become the first dragon rider and knight
or something like it now that would be a story to remember(sorry that this comment turned out as a sort of backstory)

That's one awesome picture of a blue dragon!
But...I saw a flaw around the dragon...Where's part of his right wing? It could have been shown behind the ground where he stand. ^^' We think the arm of his right wing is longer than the left one...

I love friendly dragons so I like the atmosphere of this kind of thing better. He looks so regal and proud, guarding his human friend there. And HUGE. Holy crap, that's a big dragon!

Dragons ftw! I love dragons ^-^
Also having a scale on the size of the dragon and a knight is helpful to get an actual idea on how large it is. I havent really seen the other picture quite yet but I plan on it ;

Haha Dragons needing realism; that sounds demented. But I agree; the form is a little stiff and awkward-looking; the muscles around the shoulders and neck look a little confused too (in my humble opinion). I remember thinking similarly about a pen drawing you did of a Predator (yautja) back in 1995 (approx.). Apart from that Kudos Mr. D. Keep up the good work... You ever seen the work of the deviants Ironshod or ShadowUmbre? They do amazing Dragons!!!

Thanks for your comments.
Okay, you've piqued my interest. Do I know you? I can't place you from your profile. Note me if you wish.
I work with Ironshod (Anne) for Spiral, but I have never seen Shadowumbre's work before now.
This particualr Artwork was a ball breaker when it was done about 3 years ago or so. I tried to figure out what the muscle structure might be to that the wings might actually work. I looked at a lot of Todd Lockwoods work for this as he does amazing dragons.
Dragons are one of those things which are very personal to the Artist, and eveyone has their own idea of what they should look like.
Thanks again.

Todd Lockwood... Don't think I've seen his work before. I'll check him out. Your work reminds me of Les Edwards' artwork.

Extremely talented and advanced painting; however the dragon might need work on realism... The background looks real, but the bright color and lack of shadows on the dragon make it seem... unrealistic : ) many congrats to you, however, on the extreme amount of time and talent going into it. I couldn't do it ^^

When I redid the background to this, I did think about redoing the Dragon as well, but decided aginst it. I agree it could do with intregrating into the background a little more as the blue stands out a lot. Don't know if I will ever get round to doing that though, we'll see.

id go with this one as it shows that just because hes blue (an evil dragon according to some fantasy worlds) he doesnt HAVE to be evil.and the simple fact that your kinght looks cool
