The finished version of the previous video: [link] ! I may add shading to the characters to make them more believable when I have the time, but for now, it can be posted. And BOY did this take long! I did this without any tweening anyway- yes, the animation is produced in Flash. BGs are painted in Photoshop.
As you may have heard, Warner Bros. has hired AnimalLogic to animate his story BONE in CG- this video shows my take on how it would look if it were going to be produced in 2D. Sound is taken from the soundtrack of TellTale Games' video game of the series.
Reflecting on this, even though the movie will be in CG, I REALLY think they should have a little 2D in it! Like, maybe in the opening and/or closing credits... or maybe in a short sequence in the body of the film!! It worked marvelously for Kung Fu Panda, and Cloudy... and I see a growing emergence of traditionally-animated credit sequences nowadays!!! Someone should suggest this to him!
Here's to you, Jeff. BONE was the first graphic novel I ever read, and the first I religiously followed. I hope the movie is the best it can be!

Very nice character animation- you did a excellent job of capturing Fone Bone and Phoney's personalities. I love the look Fone Bone's giving him, HE SEES WHAT YOU DID THERE.
Jeff Smith is such a brilliant comic artist, it's a shame they're not doing it in 2D but at least Animal Logic is a very capable lot.

I did it in hour-long increments because it was on my free time, so it took longer than it would've if this were a contract job. But overall, it look like 4 weeks.

The Telltale voices and music really don't do it for me, though. You might've been better off seeking your own.

Oh my gawd. The only comic I read all the way through and absolutely loved it! 2D would fit the comic a lot better in my opinion and not just cause the original art is flat to begin with. Your animation fits pretty well (Gran'ma sounds to young and happy >.>). She reminds me of Giselle in Enchanted before she sings the clean up song lol. Man, I need to re-read those graphic novels again.

This...is WONDERFUL. I didn't even realize that a film version of the series was being produced. (It is a long-overdue adaptation.) It is kind of disappointing that it's going to be in CG--even more so after the awesomeness that is this clip--but as long as it's a good film, I won't complain.
After seeing this, I'm rather disappointed that you won't be working on the official film yourself.

bone was definitely one of my favorite graphic novels. they used to publish short clips from the chapters in disney adventure magazines back in the 90s

Wow, this is MAGNIFICENT, Andrew. You not only have the character models spot-on, you captured the way they should move, and little nuances of expression that ring entirely true.
I was a little disappointed to hear that BONE was going to be 3dCGI, though Smith himself seems enthusiastic about it.
