Description
[link]... as many of you have guessed... or not... this is FAR from the truth. This is purely my own conception- all that exists of this little bit of news is this deviation. And trust me, I am a supporter of leaving masterpieces untouched. Until I get excited by a really COOL IDEA for an adaptation!
You DO have to admit that while Hollywood likes to revive classics from the dead and turn them into smelly zombies, what they do to them is kinda cool, and makes you think about one studio's version of the story. I thought 'Horton' existed too much for the marketing, but it was also full of good ideas. I think if the same studio produced 'The Sneetches', it would reference a lot of beach films.

I feel like it's the kind of film that would has potential to be a film because of it's political undertones, but the question is can be adapted into a 90 minute film, becuase of seeing how the orginal book was just a compilation of Dr. Seuss shorts stories

Yes I believe this is one of the underrated stories more people should be talking about and that more producers should consider turning into a movie!

Wow there really should be another Dr. Seuss movie about that. Although this is a short story witch means you would have to put a lot of extra things into this, unless you put in other short Dr.Seuss stories like Green Eggs and Ham, or maybe, Yertle the Turtle.

amazing work on this outstanding coloring. I've always thought "Pontiful Pock" and "Green Eggs and Ham" would also make good movies
if they made the story worked that is

I dont think The Sneetches would work as an animation, horton had a story which was easy for the creative mind to expand but The Sneetches eems like too simple a story, it might work better at an 8 minute short but not as a whole movie.
The Lorax though, that's the film i'd like to see

Darn, i wanted to be the one to make a Lorax movie, oh well.
i had an idea ages for a lorax play ago of the Onceler having a business rival who started out by selling stars to sneethces

The Lorax is already controversial as it is- it's like the only book of his that was banned once. But yes, it would make for a... different animated film.
Horton's story was structured better, but not by much. With The Sneetches, I can see them doing pretty much the same things, like adding more definite characters among the Sneetch crowd and developing them into a sort of ensemble cast, and establishing the beach as more of a seaside town.

D'oh! I just realized Horton wasn't Dreamworks. Well whatever. They're all the same anymore.

I still need to see Horton, but I am a little miffed that every animated film has to be loaded down with unfunny references to thirty-year-old movies and junk. It's the lazy writer's way out of making a movie that has real all-ages entertainment value (just look at, for example, anything and everything by Pixar for comparison).
Also: EVERYTHING by DreamWorks is all about the marketing. It's their "thing." I've learned to live with it. Can't get any more ironic than when they did it to Over the Hedge. It's all downhill from there.

One of my favorite Suess stories, I love this picture.
I agree with what you said, classics are reused and made into Zombies [although Batman begs to differ] Horton was cute...but still marketing material.
I really like this picture though, you have a very nice gallery, keep it up!

LOL It would be cool if Blue Sky became the go-to studio for Dr. Seuss! It would mean we'd only get good animated films like Horton, and no other studio would get to produce them. Plus, they're local.

Well they certainly seem to have elephants down pat....and they have that nice blend of stylish animation combined with a good script...and the ability not to screw existing awesome things over
have you ever considered sending them your portfolio?

But i'm sure over 3 years your art has improved (not that your old art was bad or anything)...and you have animation added to your list of skills not to mention experience. Perhaps you should consider applying again
